I'll do you one better than vinegar. It's called Chemical Guys Water Spot Remover. It's an orange gel with a higher ph that will dissolve those water spots without much rubbing. You can wash it down afterward and you are good to go.
Does the vinegar remove or thin the finish on the boat? wouldn't you have to reapply a wax or clearcoat once you stripped it down with vinegar? Just asking. I know vinegar is a good cleaner. perhaps too much?

The vinegar could remove the paint if it was left on for too long, after using I went back and washed it with soap and water and the waxed it again.
