I have made this several times and it comes out perfect. I cook the semiya the same way we do for upma. That is add water to the onion and vegetables, bring to boil and add Semiya.

I hated semiya upma because how it is traditionally made makes it super mushy and weird. Tried your method today,and it turned out so nice! Will make it regularly from now on!
