That area right outside of town is heavily fished or dead. We normally ignore it :-) You'll want to go at least several miles upstream, past the mine at Ute Creek.

If this is this year’s trip, I was there at the same time! Henson is fine trout stream and provides some fun fishing. Mainly browns at lower elevations, and brookies higher up. You’ll find some good fishing for cutts in some of the tribs.

Was that a giant pipe sticking out of that dam? That last section looked like a good run, water seemed cloudy there. Pretty area, beautiful country.

I was in CO in 2018, while driving around I stopped at a few picture perfect streams with nice deep pools.......nothing caught too.....

Interesting video as always. Mine tailings, perhaps?

I know this creek really well. From the clip you showed, you have a lot of line in the water. I'm not sure how you're going to see any strikes with all that slack?

      Perhaps he's fishing a dry....

@@Jon626 Sure, anything is possible. I don't know whether the guy filming is new to the game or not. I have always thought the less line you have on the water, the easier it is to keep in touch with your fly and the less likely you are to be affected by drag.
The parts of Henson Creek that are closer to town are fished a lot. I'm not going to say you'll not catch anything there but you'll have more success if you go further from town (above Nellie Creek)..or go on the Lake Fork.

@@williamsoni I hear ya as I primarily do the euro nymphing thing... However, you aren't fishing a dry or a wet fly properly without slack!

Watch his other videos filmed in Colorado. He catches alot of fish on simple patterns like old fashioned Mosquito Dry, Wooly Worm and Griffis Gnat
