Hey guys! When you've graduated from a program, have you taken time to reflect? What were your reflections like? Let me know!

I’m in the process of applying to AMDA right now, I’m 24, and I’ve also been to traditional college already, so thank you SO MUCH for sharing your experience!! This was very helpful to know that (if i get in) I won’t be the only person ever that’s over 20 to attend the program. I feel like that’s a silly thing to be concerned about but hearing about how it really didn’t become a “thing” in your time there is so encouraging to me 🥰🥰Also yaaaas to you for finding your life’s purpose !!!

Aww that's amazing! :) I hope you get accepted! AMDA truly was a really good experience for me in terms of getting a solid foundation and I hope it is for you as well! Thank you for your thoughtful comment :)

To see this just gave me a sign that I will apply... I'm 33 married with a daughter..but it's my dream! My age and the dynamic with the majority of the age group has me a little worried...

Currently about to go into my second year at AMDA LA in BFA Music Theatre. Even though I would say NY and LA are very different experiences, this is very accurate to the core of AMDA's curriculum. Great video !

Hey there! Thank you! I haven't been to the LA campus yet. I don't plan to study there, but I do want to come and visit to see what it's like! Wishing you the best!

OMG!!! Thank you thank you thank you for uploading this video. I will be attending AMDA this summer of 2019 as a Musical Theater student and there are so many things that have made me question if I should really go for it and if I’m really enough. During my audition I had the opportunity to meet very talented and gifted students and it was amazing to work with them but at the same time I questioned my own abilities. I have been accepted and after watching this video, you really put things in perspective for me. I will go and do my best and anytime I get discouraged or feel as though I’m not enough... I will watch this video as a reminder that I can do this. Thank you so much and I extend my love and faith to your future and the things God have in store for your career.❤️

Definitely something I will cherish. I hope the remainder of your 1st semester continues to be amazing! Sending love and faith right back at you. KEEP GOING AND KEEP CHASING THOSE DREAMS!

This was super helpful and motivational. I was looking for reviews on Amda and I believe this is the best so far. I think in your next Amda video, you could talk more about the schedules, courses, self progression, or more technical stuff. But I am so glad I ran into your channel. Thank you!

Can you do some kind of video about talking about financials as a 26yr old going to school and living in your own place. I want to move and start school at Amda when I’m 25 but I’m going to have to have a job while doing it and I’m not sure how I can fit that into the time.

SO GLAD I FOUND YOU!!!!! Excited because I have a bachelors and masters also (business/accounting) but I’m interested in switching things up and pursuing musical theatre since I did it back in high school and am still an artist in my heart lol. Okay! I’m about to binge watch ur stuff haha!! 🙏🏾😊

WOW I love ur vibes from this video. I love this new, mature perspective into this school. I just got accepted in to the Acting program at AMDA in LA, and the only thing that I’m worried about is the expense and the student life there. I am honestly kinda an outsider with theatre kids? I’m super dedicated to my craft and am absolutely fearless on stage but I usually tend to stick to myself, even though I know lots of actors r extremely outgoing. Do u have any advice for me? :) ❤️

I have been accepted into AMDA and currently considering ways of financing the course (loans, etc). Any opinion on what best lenders are and ways of paying back my debt? I´ve been afraid of all those SCAMDA rumours.. any opinion on them?

I’m a junior in highschool and I’m looking into auditioning for musical theatre at AMDA New York what should I expect while auditioning? Like what should I wear, are you limited to only a certain number of bars in your audition piece, does my song have to be from a certain time period or a certain style?

    • @erin.patience

I had my audition two weeks ago for the performaning arts program.
I suggest neutral, comfortable, minimal/no jewelry. To look clean and neat. Hair not covering your face.

Hi, I’m thinking about trying out for acting at AMDA in NY, do you think the acting classes are as good or is NY AMDA better for musical theatre and L.A. AMDA better for acting?

Hey there 😌 I had not been in musicals prior. At least not any full length musicals. I did one musical that was apart of a fringe festival, but other than that, I didn’t have any musical theatre performance experience.

Hey Kai! I am curious how you developed your audition materials without a private voice teacher, unless you did have one and I've misunderstood. I've also been curious as to the quality of AMDA's voice teachers, because I once took lessons from a woman with her master's degree in musical theatre and she didn't know what she was talking about! She constantly criticized me and her lessons caused more harm than good. Thankfully, the next year, I was assigned to a new teacher who had his master's degree in voice and the difference was like night and day! I progressed so far; and, after 2 years under his instruction I was belting out like Streisand! In fact, he taught me to teach and explained what my vocal exercises did and how to modify them for other voce types. I like to think he was a pretty rare teacher. :)
Sadly, during my own AMDA audition, the pianist threw me off by playing my piece way too fast, despite having gone over the tempo with him in rehearsal at least twice. So, I had to start over.... Most accompanists will take their tempo from the singer; but, not him! I was humiliated because he made it look like I hadn't prepared. BTW do they still charge a $75 application fee? They used to when I auditioned in Chicago in 1997 or 98! Also, back then we were told that one had to re-audition to be accepted into the second year of the musical theatre program. Is this still true?
