Excellent interview with Joe Ray. This interview gave me a lot of insight on Joe Ray, lowriding, and Lifestyle Car Club. Hate, or love, Joe Ray, he is an icon in the lowriding culture who's influence cannot be diminished, or denied.
Thank you Joe Ray for being great leader to Lowrider Community and All Diverse community, you are great influence teaching and presentation by being a Lowrider “Be Yourself”. I agree about vision it is true. When God give vision you see it then believe it.
This episode was amazing!! Thank you for the great questions. Can’t wait to see the success that joe will have with his new Original Lowrider brand. 🙌🏽🙏🏽
Carnales Unidos Car Show 87, We Were Parked Across LIFESTYLE, I Was Blown Away,These Guys Are Down To Earth, Classic Rides They Had , They Are The Bar Of Lowrider Customization.
Super dope episode. U don’t see interviews from members of the lowrider or custom car community. I Can relate to him when he says u gotta be in it to understand us and when he said sometimes he wishes he was just a regular member bullshittin with the rest of the guys. I was Head Council for a big Dub club and I understand that completely. Your own members watch your every step and every move and take everything u say SERIOUSLY. u can’t even joke around sometimes. Even tho Lowriders and the Dubs scene are different, the Lifestyle in many was are the same. We had to battle for our Respect. Lowriders didn’t understand why we took a late model vehicle and spend all that money on it. The thing is we are all Lowriders at heart, it was just a different branch of it. I was in the Dub scene at its highest peak and I miss that shit.
Really cool to hear all the history. I was in 6th-7th grade when my uncles took me crusin for the first time in 86-87. Been into custom rides ever since
Ones again Gill !!! You put a good one out.👍👍💯💯💯💯 Joe keep up the great job 👏 very true to see my car in the lowrider magazine was the best feeling in my life 🙌 Bring back the magazine 💯💯💯💯💯 Majestics ( L.A.)
Great commentary, Joe. Thanks for mentioning our sweet memories at CANTWELL HIGH SCHOOL from 1970 to 1974. You have my respect and support, always. Russell, 1974 LTD. Ha Ha....
Good program, with a lot of history about low riding. Seems with the resurgence of low riding, everyone wants to make money on it's popularity. Everybody wants to be at the top, but that comes with the territory. The main point is to have fun enjoy low riding and not let the public get that negative perception that people are blocking roads, walking in the middle of streets taking over intersections. Public safety is #1, and when you jeopardize that then they start banning certain activities or enact laws, like in the 70's. Be safe, "Pecho to the Techo!!
Really enjoyed this interview. Joy Ray is a down to earth guy. I'm glad his vision to keep going with the Original Lowrider is impressive. The Cinco de Mayo show video was awesome. The rides brought out were top-notch. Lowrider Magazine fan since 77 Super Show issue was the start of being a true fan. Having and building a lowrider my first car. Thanks for the memories
Surfer Frank. Downey California Sunday, i was in little Tokyo after Buddhist temple, I saw first street the the soot riot celebration. I was proud for one day, then, couple Japanese brothers came by the temple. Growing up in Downey 1974 my best friends were Calvin Chung and Steve Kawasaki I learned how to eat Chinese food and Steve Kawasaki introduced me to Judo and kendo and Reading ❤❤❤. Visit Downey California. Portos bakery and Downey library ❤❤❤
There was a hotrod journal magazine that would run every 3 month and it was high end magazine. That would be a good idea to have something like that for LOWRIDERS ..
Lowrider mag was cool when you had to find the one neighborhood store that had them, it was over saturated by the time it was on the shelf at Walmart….
I was born on 1960 lived on 3rd and mc bride mariana varrio i was 17 when i was crussing witierblvd i remember seeing one or two white boys and white girls dressed like cholos as well as one or two blacks that was it yehaaaaa
That's going to be a "BIG SHOW" 2023 CINCO DR MAYO weekend plus nothing really big celebration hasn't happen in a while. Ima have to fly in and see this show. Might be a long line to get shakes down before getting in the building I'm shire the security is going to be tight which it should to keep every one safe.
Is it true that nowadays, in ELA AND BOYLE HEIGHTS, Montebello, you have to be a gangster to be in a lowrider club? Looking back to the 50s and 60s car clubs guys used to wear more casual clothes and nice shoes, the "Continental Style". Will that style ever come back?
Full respect for Joe Ray. I prefer the mods and overall look of La Vegas 👍 but Loco 64 should have won simply because it is way more drivable. A car is not a car if it's not drivable.
Better start fighting they want your classics off the roads and crushed been saying this for 7 years and here it is October 2023 and they are pushing on this real hard fight against the democratic BS

We do need a magazine. Atleast quarterly, by ordering online or something. Doesn't need to be on a shelf in a store. I know I would order them
Lowrider mag was cool when you had to find the one neighborhood store that had them, it was over saturated by the time it was on the shelf at Walmart….
