for crap sake by an electromagnetic heater. Some guys like to call them a growler. After the bearing is properly heated (45 sec) you could literally install them by hand with gloves in seconds witb no pounding to damage bearings. Also to remove the shaft since it's hallow simply turn a can of compressed air upside down and spray the inside of the shaft only. This will work only if the hole assembly has been slightly heated before compressed air put in shaft to shrink it.

If you absolutely must hammer the shaft through you need to be supporting the inner race otherwise you are just damaging the bearing

There is a better way. Buy a bearing puller/press tool. Harbor tools sells it for $40.

You forgot to transfer the grease fitting over to the new part
