I think this was played on SNES9k, which was old even back in 2012, but it was one of the few options I could use for netplay back then. ZSNES was another option, but it also had problems with the sound emulation. If I did this now, it wouldn't have any problem.

I always shoot the fireballs first before I move forward
on stage 2, the player two looks terrible hahaha

How did you play online?
I think I used SNES9k or ZSNES for this. I currently use Mednafen for SNES netplay.
Bad players
Because, they didn't play run and shooter a lot compare to rail shooter. So you can't blame them.
