A wonderfully versatile tent with many options. Thank you Hilleberg for an outstanding design. I tested it out last weekend on a bicycle tour - perfect if weight is an issue. Now I have 3 Hilleberg tents to choose from. All have their pros and cons (Staika, Unna). Some years ago I had bought a medium quality tent to save some money. Unfortunately it was ripped appart during a stormy night and I had to get down wet the mountain that night. I never want to experience that ever again in my life. So I came to Hilleberg and had since then another stormy night with the Staika at over 100 kph and what can I say: scary weather and loud as hell but the tent survived without any problems. Peace for the mind. I could never sleep in single wall tent to save weight, not a bargain for me. At the end of day, you get the energy from a good sleep!
Another rip of from hilleberg you can buy a great tarp for 1/5 of the price . Well done hilleberg a great way to go out of business, shame as I uses to swear by them but I can't afford a bag of pegs now ! Sort it out
If you don't want it, don't buy it! If I posted about all the things in life that I don't want or can't afford, I'd have nothing else to do but write about that. Just get a tent from some other vendor, noone is stopping you. Hilleberg tents are superior in quality, and will last for many many years. I know someone with a 30 year old Hilleberg tent thats as good as new. You can get replacement parts for Hilleberg tents from 40 years ago! Good luck finding parts for some cheap tent you got 4 years ago.
Go buy a great tarp then. Nobody cares. If you actually need a tent of this quality, you will save the money to buy it and gladly pay the price. Fuck, not everybody needs professional-quality gear, but everybody wants it and expects to get it for nothing.
