I’ve played a lot of hack and slash games and Vindictus is still up there. Literally the only games that have squared up against or surpassed it’s combat are all of the anime action games out there like Honkai Impact, Punishing Gray Raven who reinvented the wheel, and Aether Gazer. In terms of semi realistic IPs nothing has come close to Vindictus.
You see an early alpha and are already making judgments.
They're talking about vindictus 1. The fact that no mmo has surpassed its combat is beyond me. I can't speak for bdo combat, but it felt like all visuals and no challenge when i tried it

I remember I subbed to you Steparu because of your original Vindictus videos, it is mad to think almost 14 years later I am watching you play the new Vindictus
Looks nice, but I really wish that in the final game 3 gameplay options would exist.
First option - the classic gameplay is like in this video.
Second option - the gameplay is different and got a stamina system that makes the own character and enemies move slower after a while.
Third option - like the second option + blood, scars and injuries that makes you limping aslong you don't heal them (you can find scrolls or get get them at the cash shop).
really brought back when Vindictus first came out~~and whoa just realized can actually play the pre-alpha on steam right now!! gonna go give it a try
I know there might be a lot of people that don't care about this but despite the combat looking fine so far, they could do to improve their sound design. It feels so cheap to see a sword and shield user charging forward with multiple hit stock sound punches, it also takes the impactfulness away.
Been awhile since I played Vindictus but I think they're just using the sounds from that game which is real old at this point. It is a pre alpha though so hopefully they're just placeholder.
@@Solovanov I say that very often. "hopefully it's a placeholder" but nowadays I think just letting them hear us out this early is a lot better for development process. you are right though.

Can't wait for the full game and damn these sexy character are also making me buy a PS5 to play Star Blade that also got me with the "ladder" up and down hahahaha nice job guys! Cool gameplay + hot characters finally!!!
So, it has a parry system, but so far, absolutely nothing to actually make it satisfying to pull off. They may need to realize that if they're going to go the Soulslike route, they're going to need more risk-reward in the combat. There was a reason people disliked fighting the Demon of Hatred in Sekiro. It's because the best way to beat him was through health loss. Because of his big, infrequent attacks, and fast posture recovery, chipping away at his massive health bar with repetitive attacks was the strategy for beating him, while parrying often did little more than let you live to keep attacking. That's the vibe I got from this boss fight.
Sekiro had the posture system, Lies of P had the stagger/weapon break system, and both had super satisfying sound and visual effects to made successful deflections feel good, and encouraged players to take risks and stay up close. This game's still in alpha, so let's hope they implement some depth and satisfaction into these boss fights. Or if they can't do that, at least make the bosses less tanky.

Like the level of fan-service 😊, but hope, that they add more fantasy outfits, than modern casual suits, that do not match the setting and atmosphere.

Man, even in the original I was never much of a fan of Fiona’s play style. She has all the nice outfits and everything too in the demo. Sucks I can’t use her right. If they Ever release Evie for the demo I’ll be right at home!

Yeah, according to the devs. "The dev team is planning to add multi-player mode in addition to the single-player mode which will be the main play mode in the launch version." It's mostly going to be single-player focused though.

@@SteparuTV If it has a multiplayer mode, what differentiates it from Vindictus? The original was just instanced small parties anyway, so if this will have multiplayer as well then it really just seems like Vindictus but with better graphics lol. Kinda wish they would have just made a new game with new characters, enemies, locations, story etc. but just the same amazing combat style, rather than Vindi 2.0

Did I spend almost 2 hours jobbing to Gnoll Chieftain? Yes, yes I did but it was good to play "Vindictus" again.
In this day, our hope in game rest on japan, korea and (ironically) china to make videogame with beautiful people in it
game of the year confirmed. Based still. Nodders. only thing i want to see or i should say hear more, is their upgrade of their sound effects. need to be more beefy. glad that it will still be vindictus just with upgraded graphics. they still had the different cheer stuff, the cloths i remember most of them. glad they're upgrading the outfits. I just wonder if they are gonna put in all of the outfits in, in time or in order? or have you transfer the stuff over to the new one?? not sure not sure.

They said they will tone down exposure on outfits aka censor them, but this looks alright.
The only thing I personally dont like is the soulslike combat, since I liked the original Vindictus combat and I wanted them to update that, but its not too bad since this one is faster
EDIT: Tried it out myself, gotta say, it plays better than it looks.
Where did they speak about toning down outfits?
@@zelohendricks51 Steam discussions, click "FAQ (Related to Vindictus)" and In the first section where they talk about his its gonna be different they say and I quote "There will be less outfits with too much exposure or somewhat revealing designs."
@@avendurree Less outfits does not mean they will censor anything. It just means they will have a smaller selection of revealing outfits.
If the final product is single player offline game with optional coop like relink then it doesn't matter anyway as people will create mods eventually, provided that it's moddable of coz.

The game looks great, but something is off. It looks too easy for what is trying to do and it doesn't look like a combo type of game to use that lack of challenge
UI and combat seems optimized for mobile. Bad sign.

Vindictus was always a game with awesome gameplay held back by greedy business practices. If they can keep microtransactions just to decently priced outfits, they'll be fine, but as soon as you have the terrible weapon enhancing/enchanting protection, looting pets, RNG dye amps etc. in the shop you lost me again.
Edit: Also forcing you to buy your first set of underwear is ridiculous. It was either that or an ugly white shirt and briefs.

Doesn't the character models and animations (even the costumes) look a lot like BDO...? This is basically succession Valkyrie with cleaner animations and better graphics, because it's instanced and single player and not an mmo? This could directly compete with Crimson Desert.
Also, i'm not sure if this type of Korean combat is suitable for a souls like, it looks flashy for sure but it's not even close to DMC or Souls combat.
