Elastic in the waistband isn't just physical comfort - it's the dignity of only displaying what's under your pants when it's mutually agreeable to do so. Cutting into the interior of pants waistbands to add some elastic in has made so many more pairs into pants that are useful.
Hats never fit my small head either. I have to bun my hair and use that to keep the smallest I can find on my head (with several hat pins too). Awesome work btw!
How this turned out is amazing. Fantastic work! In a weird twist, my late mom was given the Sergeant Pepper album for her 21st (on vinyl, when it was a new release)…but it was stolen at her 21st birthday party! Fast forward some twenty plus years at least, and the albums were re-released on vinyl and Mom, of course, told us the story. So my sisters and I, who had limited funds being relatively young and either college or school age, clubbed together and bought that album for her birthday. Mom would get really quiet when she was moved to tears and leave the room. We did know her pretty well - I once gave her Georgette Heyer books, another time Monty Python DVD box set and, possibly one of the funnier gift occasions, some Ealing Comedies. But this video reminded me of that occasion, thanks Jax. X
Not having seen either of the old or new Beetlejuice movies, I'm not quite sure of what you are doing but its clever! I really like the tricorn hat tutorial. I've found a few second-hand floppy wool hats at antique malls and used them to make a couple 17th century cavalier hats which turned out surprisingly well. Very easy to make! 🧡💙
@@FantasticalFolliesCostuming one year, my friend dressed like clark kent, and i went as merriwether lewis, so we were lewis and clark. :) (but nobody got it, d'oh!)
I’ve found Winco brand parchment paper to be much better for sewing/costuming purposes. Even masking tape sticks to it! I wouldn’t be surprised if other store brands behaved similarly well. I use it to trace patterns because I usually have to make a ton of adjustments to for commercial patterns to actually fit me. It’s also way cheaper than craft store tracing paper but looks otherwise identical.
😍 I needed this so much! I started a Thumbelina BeatleBall gown last year ish but was so intimidated by the epaulettes and trim that I "set it aside for a bit" 🙄😅

The fit with the elastic in the waistband...so, so much better. The look is amazing!!
Thank you!!
It’s a technique I’m definitely going to try. I think Cashmerette has a variant of this in a trouser pattern
One thing to point out, the direction which you sew the inseam matters because the act of sewing can cause stretch.
Lucy in the sky with sandworms is the first thing that's given me a laugh during my post Agatha All Along finale come down. So, thank you!
YAY! Glad to be of service 🤣
Hahahaha OMG it's wonderful!
