  • I recently upgraded my ride and got a Transition Sentinel 2022 GX build off of Facebook marketplace. This video is my first impressions on some of my favorite trails. The real question is… should you buy this bike?

Great video, as usual. I hope that you continue to like the bike. I went from a 26” hardtail to a 29” full suspension XC bike. I was overwhelmed by the difference.

I got this same bike two months ago. First full suspension bike. Been loving it. It's just a fun on easy trails with the kids, or doing the local dirt jumps.

Thanks. If it's anywhere near good as my scout, you'll love it

So far it’s pretty good besides the creaking

Thats a nice bike. As you ride it more the longer bike will become more instinctive on turning with the rear in tight sections rather than turning with the front. The DB Release is a very short bike with very short rear end, but while the short rear end can make it feel faster and make it nimble in tight slow sections, that shortness makes it somewhat twitchy and that requires a huge amount of mental effort to keep it under control at speed. The long wheelbase and long rear end of the Sentinel, once you get used to it, will let you look down the trail 100 feet out, where as in my experience, the short bikes always require me to look 20-50 feet out. Short bikes feel fast, long bikes are fast. 🙂 Unless you are racing XC. 😃

Very well worded. I’ve noticed on my Sentinel that the higher speed trails feel smooth and almost makes me feel slow even though I’m going just as fast if not faster. I’ve been loving this Sentinel for jumps. Feels very stable

you did set your fork and shock before you did the climb im assuming and then set them to open setting on the decent?

I don't care what you say, as an average rider, I love my Sentinel! Good bike and so far very solid. I really like how sturdy it feels, that's a big plus from me 😂

It’s grown on me, but the first few rides I was having some buyers remorse. I think taking it on Hyde and Blood Rock is what sealed the deal for me. It climbed GREAT! In North Carolina so I feel like I’m officially a big fan of this bike.

Did you make sure the BB was torqued? Mine has a loose BB shell almost immediately.

Yeah man, ticks are now the scariest part of mountain biking. The rest is child's play in comparison!

Is the noise from the bike, the internal cables rattling inside? I recently did a Transition Scout build and they sent me a piece of foam to put on the internally routed cables so that they don’t smack into each other and make noise. From the video it sounds more like a clicking sound than a creak but not sure what it sounds like in person

@@offdaystv Honestly check and make sure the shock mounting bolts and the pivot points are torqued. That should fix it. Transition has all the torque specs on their site

@@lukas-a9234To follow up I made sure everything is torqued properly and regreased all of the bearings/pivots and it still creaks. I believe it’s coming from the rear shock but not 100% sure what it is.
