Frustration? Yea! Jealosy? Sure! This guy is intimidating! I've seen his video of Barrio la Vina performed at 11 or 12, and it was already unbelievable (last scale at 220 sixteenths, clean). That scared me too! Keep it up, Javier! And don't let anybody put you down. I believe you'll become a real artist very very soon.
This is absolutely the most perfect traditional flamenco I've heard is a long time. Nice to listen to a young man playing traditional flamenco guitar with perfect technique. Ole!
Can anyone figure out that intro? Is it a sliding 7th chord 4th form going to a 1st form? I could spend a year just trying to play half of this! Bravo!!!
WOW doesnt even begin to describe this. im a big fan of latino style music, especially flamenco and this is by far one of the best vids of flamenco i have seen
I'm not a flemenco guitarist but I got my hands on one of these guitars once and wow!.....the action is super low and the strings are buzzing everywhere. These type of guitars are very easy on your left hand but mastering that right hand technique probably takes a long time. Flamenco guitar is pure art, and it sounds so powerful.
Yes he does chap - was released with just his name as the title when he was very young tho - it's available from flamenco-world and elflamencovive (.com(s))
A capo is mainly used to create a brighter sound. Next to this, the frets are spaced closer together higher on the neck, so some hard grips become better doable (and the wrist can relax more). About solo: in flamenco this is called a solo, in contrast to accompinying a dance or singer.
This kid is awesome. I rehearse Flamenco, as well, but nothing as good as Javiar. Keep up the good work. I see the makings of another musical genius. And that is supposed to be a compliment.
You could say that to a certain degree, but I hear a lot of Sabicas in there too, and ofc Sabicas has been a huge influence on many flamencoes, Paco included...
The guitar is naturally tuned in E (E, A, D, G, B, E.) low to high. When raised by 2 frets (one tone) by the clasp, he is now playing a guitar that is modified to sound like it is in F#. The notes in E minor are E-G-B, root to fifth, but with the addition of D, you get the 7nth. Raise it all 2 tones to where he is playing and you have F#-A-C#, add 7nth which is E.
This guy is absolutely phenomenal and has a perfect technique and feeling for the music. Anyone with a shred of musicality would see this. I shouldn't rise to the bait but one idiot says "fake" and another brain-dead person says "this guy is probably not good ". These people know nothing and are nothing. Good luck Javier, you are a great player.
lots of guitar songs are written to be in a specific key. some of which you can only get to by using a capo, because if you were to try and tune to that key you would snap strings. Some songs just don't get the right feel across if they are played in a lower key where the higher notes might get that feeling across and that is why you would use a capo
Excellent guitar playing.I love this song . Really wonderful..! Classic beauty. 5**** Thanks so much Aujo, for sharing this one. I added to my list of favourites.
Tremolo picking or double picking describes the musical technique of picking on a guitar or other string instrument in which a single note is played repeatedly in quick succession. It can be achieved either with the fingers or with a plectrum. In the latter case, the plectrum is moved up and down rapidly to hit the intended string of the guitar evenly. This technique adds sustain to a melodic line where the notes would otherwise decay rapidly.
even if there's a tab of this piece who'd dare to try and play it! you must know all the technics for both right and left hand, it takes years and not to mention this guy is a flamenco master and the youngest to win 25th International Flamenco Guitar Contest within the Festival de Cante de las Minas! by the way notice after 1:40 his fingers and the fretboard are good friends! lol
@jodharry yeah that's exactly what i meant. if you asked the average person who Vicente Amigo is they probably wouldn't have any clue. There probably isn't a single person on the planet who hasn't heard of Jimi Hendrix. As least here in America, generally speaking, most of the greatest flamenco virtuosos are unknown. Which is a shame because they are some of the most talented musician's on the planet.
With all the marginal crap one has to see and hear everyday of ones life...it's refreshing to hear a human being so extraordinarily talented and yet so humble. There is no substitute for raw natural talent and many, many hours of practice. JC kicks ass in a world full of obvious average people. Consider me a fan. His guitar playing is nothing short of amazing.

flamenco has to be one of the most underrated guitar styles. the virtuosity and musicality is sublime.
Flamenco reveals the possibilities of the guitar like no other genre.

nothing can beat the spanish guitar, perfect.

What a fantastic talent and even if I lived to 100 years of age and spent all my time practicing, I don't think I could improve on this!
must've watched this five times... Im now gonna buy a nylon stringed guitar becuase this is incredible. THIS IS THE reason for existence!
This kid is awesome. I rehearse Flamenco, as well, but nothing as good as Javiar. Keep up the good work. I see the makings of another musical genius. And that is supposed to be a compliment.

I think this was the piece I saw performed back in '74 in a night club in Madrid.
He's the most relaxed player I've ever seen.
He plays like sabicas
Paco is more relaxed.
nobody gets this good in a single lifetime...he must have studied music in several lives .....probably since Atlantean times
This is incredible, great skills and melody.
