I know that feel. I recently got back to yu gi oh after 16 years and decided to get some structure decks and a magnificent mavens mini-box. I got some really good cards out of it and I might buy more or a display box(5). I suggest you to try Master duels(on steam/mobile) instead so you could feel how yu gi oh is now. I have been playing with a budget swordsoul deck. And I'm starting to love it so much, I might spend $90-200 just to get the entire deck IRL.

Rescue aces are SICK. You can make your boss monster really easily and they have really strong effects. Pair them up with Infernobles and they get even better, as you can now play Synchros. (Also helps that some are fire warrior)
Mikanko(Me-Kahn-Co) is a pretty interesting deck tbh. I think it's my favorite for sure, it's not a Ritual deck though, the ritual monster is basically just a continuous ROTA. It reveals itself, you add 1, discard another, every. single. turn. Pretty broke honestly. All of them can't be destroyed by battle and all of the equips make them unable to be destroyed by card effects as well. They can run Pot of Duality+Extravagance for super consistency. Ha-Re is a an equip spell searcher for them, and Ni-Ni is a monster steal on the opponents turn. They have a funny interaction with Double-Edged Sword. If your opponent controls a monster with atleast 2000 atk, equip double-edged sword to the opponent, summon a Mikanko and equip it with anything, attack, they'll take 4000 Damage, twice because the Mikanko monster's effect to deal battle damage to the opponent stacks with Double-Edged Sword. You can also run Supermagic Sword of Raptimus to make them untargetable. Heavenly Gate let's them attack as many times as you have Equips, so you can OTK in a heart beat with them. They can also play through a lot of disruption because your only really looking to normal summon 1 Mikanko and ram it into stuff. Kagura is icing on the cake, the ritual spell says "Destroy card's your opponent controls up to the number of Equip Spells in your GY, then, Inflict 1000 damage for each card destroyed.". They get more support down the line as well that make them stronger too, it's also worth mentioning, Mikanko Reflection Rondo let's you steal an opponents monster's and use it for the summon of Ohime, negates the monster's effects too.

I liked rescue ace but I was blown away by purrely. I tested purrely out on Dualing Nexus and with amazing defenders it’s good but is missing something. But Nexus allows you to also use the card that comes out next pack in Purrely lily, and that was a huge consistency boost. I fought against tear, Kashtira, and branded multiple times and I won like 2/3! Noir can stop all of their plays and you can OTK with Expurrely Happiness. I think I found my new project deck!
Im not interested in any of the archetypes introduced in this set tbh, all look mid at best. Idk, the aesthetic/theme of an archetype is important for me, I want an archetype that isnt lame
I think they have a pretty strong and distinctive smell of chemeicals, ink and cardboard. It is truly wonderful how the smell of different people works
