this is the best pinball tutorial ive ever seen. i watched the whole thing, and i will be watching it 4-5 times more to really make this stuff sink in.
Yesterday I have scored 800 million at my local arcade without finishing Super Hero Mode but I was closed to. Thank you Bowen for this amazing tutorial.
I know Im asking the wrong place but does someone know a way to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost my account password. I love any help you can give me.
@Grant Omar I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
after not being a fan of stern machines for the past 20 years, and only loving my 90's Williams/Bally pins, I am now turning a new corner with Spiderman being my favorite Stern and really loving it, with honorable mentions for Lord of the Rings, Pirates of The Carribean, Iron Man, Transformers, and Tron Legacy
3:05 "there's very little that can go wrong for the player there, and a lot can go right." I lol'd so hard because I've only been playing for 2 months or so and, I can disprove that statement.
This is fantastic! Just found a spider-man at a Miniature golf place here in AZ. Although I think the right ramp white light ramp doesn't seem to work properly like this vid it's still a pretty cool table. I like it when I play a decent amount of time getting replay's with little money spent.
Bowen, you're amazing! Three great games, but that last one, you almost scored a billion. That's billion! With a B! I didn't know that was possible on Spiderman! Just, simply amazing. Well done sir!
I personally prefer the theming of the Vault Edition over the original (then again, I'm biased towards comic Spidey over movie Spidey, so I might not be the best judge of such things). This is a game I've been coming around to of late - has a real nice flow to it despite it not seeming like it would at first glance.
Bowen I have a question. You mentioned it here and when I asked about WPT at pinburgh 2015 for games that favor player accuracy you talk about setting the tilt really tight to compensate. But in your director's guide it says: "If a game is set so the tilt mechanism is too tight, the setup favors players with better aim. If the tilt is set too loose, the setup favors players with recovery or nudging skills. In a best case scenario, every game should be set so players are required to use a variety of skills in order to succeed against the competition. When pinball is played at its highest level, all skillsets are important. It is the tournament director’s primary function to help discover who is the best overall pinball player, not who has the best aim while delicately stroking the flipper buttons with a handful of feathers. Nudging has always been a part of pinball and should be respected as a critical skill." it seems like setting these games tight like this massively favors the player with good aim and a handful of feathers. i felt this way on WPT as my nudging is much better than my accuracy and as soon as i missed a shot i would touch tilt trying to save the ball. can you reconcile/explain this for me?
this is my favorite pin right now. ive been playing 3-5 hours straight every 2-3 days. I like it more than iron man, im liking it even more than fish tales!
ive played this table for about 6-7 hours in 3 play sessions, probably about 24-30 games, and i dont do things in order to try to get a higher score, i dont know how many times to hit things and cant keep track of them, and cant really look at the dot matrix to much, i also cant trap/stall the balls very well, but i follow the lights, hit the characters, and after only having 3 sessions on it, about 2 hours each night, my high score is 168,715,710... w/o really knowing how to set things up for doubles and tripples or doing things in order, etc. i was just trying to make calculated shots and keep balls on the playfield. i am really good at bouncing the ball off the middle ball drain pin to save it. after watching your video im going to concentrate now on doing things in order and setting up modes/multiballs, doublers and tripplers.
Does anyone what the causes the “special” insert at the light lock/daily bugle location to light, and what the result is from hitting it? I had mine come on for the first time in a game last night and when I hit it i wasn’t clear on what it triggered. I’ haven’t been able to find anything about it yet and I didn’t see it come on once during this video.
@ 11:58 😵😳😱😰😬😩😨😞😟😤😢😭😦😖😖🙁☹️😲🤑🙃😕 using the center post is an art form, knowing when and more importantly when NOT to flip, take notes y'all, the only reason I ever got into this shit and got a do or die on iron Man was because of the great Bowen kerrrrrrrns 😬😂😂 - erkdajerk
Well done! You would just have easier work shooting under-upper-flipper shot if you drop the right button exactly when the ball is under it so the flipper pushes the ball in to under lane. This is the only thing I do better. Otherwise you are a great pinball player.
One at a nearby location makes it very hard to backhand the DocOc shot. I believe this is because the upper right flipper reacts on a half-press of the button while the lower flipper reacts on full-press. So you can hold the upper while the lower is dropped - looks wrong to me. This also means, when shooting, the upper flipper drops a bit later. Is this a problem with that specific machine or is that normal on Spiderman or even Stern?
That definitely sounds like some crossed wires to me - I've never heard of a game doing that deliberately, specifically because on many games (this one included), the upper flipper blocks at least one critical shot when it's activated. Stage flipping is the only way around this during multiballs, so it would be absolutely bonkers for a game to intentionally make it impossible to do. Either the game itself is faulty, or you've got some very shady operators pulling some very shady shenanigans at that location.
hy my friend..exscuse my lenguage...i m italian... but..how can we to light the extraball and ... royalmultiball????please. the extraball is one in all game or .. 2_3extraball in a one coin?? help me?? please help me please
Ciao!!
Extra ball lights when you complete each villain's first mode. Royale lights when you complete each villain's second mode. I believe the extra ball is once per game.

Wow- That was truly excellent playing & one of your best tutorial demos imho!
Wow, you're really good at this.

This is so cool! I have this Pinball and I always wanted to know what battle royale is!

How do you know all of the point values? Is there somewhere to look it up?
Thanks

I noticed you never soft plunge for the venom skill shot
The normal one is easier to make and worth more (as it factors into bonus multipliers I believe)
Awesome video thanks Bowen!
