imagine getting a $71K loan and having to pay $1150 a month... That's 5 years (62 months) to pay off the principle balance. PLUS an additional 22 months of ADDITIONAL payments that will go towards 5 years accrued interest (bringing the total term length to 84 months).
I mean, the MSRP is only $45,000... So Dale's credit must have been so bad that the only way he could get a car was to enter into a deal that has him paying pack nearly twice what the car is worth, and technically close to THREE TIMES as much as the value of the car when you factor in interest and the annual depreciation value of the vehicle. Because he won't even be able to get 10K for that vehicle 7 years from now... even if it's in great condition.
What a goober. This just shows how awful of a financial state Dale is in... and how financially irresponsible he is. He should have gotten a Kia or Camry, paid that off in 2 or 3 years... Sell it, THEN go get something a bit more upscale, using the money from selling the car as a down payment to lower his monthly bill. Plus, seeing as he would have already fully paid off a vehicle, he'd get better terms and rates and be able to get a better car.
But dale is a dummy who they saw coming from a mile away.

@@NedsonMonteiro 100%. Though I am not against the practice of financing a vehicle, as most people don't have anywhere close to enough to buy a new vehicle outright... But not for more than twice what the car is worth.
Because for someone with bad credit, paying off something substantial like a car would get him back in good standings. Though that alone might not get him "good creidt", it would open up some doors and out him well on the path.
But like I said, get a Kia with a MSRP of 15k (if you HAVE TO have something new) and pay it off in 2 years... you'll get that big bump in your credit score, but won't have to sign a losing deal or be stuck with payments for 84 fucking months, with more than a third of that being interested payments.

Financing is not bad it's only bad when people do it without any education or without mathing out their payments in relation to their expenses and income.
