An old timer ran a tackle shop and recommended i use the brown lenses also. They're the only ones i use. If its clear or slightly stained i wear them. Muddy water makes them useless. My numbers increased greatly because of them. Not only see deeper, but see cover and structure better.

Appreciate the skin caner awareness and prevention advice. One common skin cancer location is the feet which is often overlooked. Bob Marley died of melanoma that originated in his toe. While fishing in sandals feels great, so too does fishing in shorts and a T-shirt. So if we're going to protect ourselves from skin cancer, we should also consider the feet and keep them covered.

Bed fishing is illegal here in Pennsylvania, and I’m not too upset about it. I get that there’s a great chance at catching monster bass during the spawn, but it almost feels like cheating to me - kind of like shooting a turkey out of its roost. I respect those who choose to bed fish and do it as ethically as possible, but I’d rather leave them alone to spawn, then catch them once they move back deep.

Last year they didn't spray the lake so the weeds and this scum stuff was thick everywhere. It was so bad that you couldn't even fish some weedless lures without pulling in a bunch of the slime the was growing on all of the weeds. I'm glad to know I made the correct decision while trying to catch a fish on the bed. I of course was using a white creature bait but could never get the fish to eat the whole thing so there was a lot of pulling and stretching because the fish only had the non-hook end of the bait. I switch to a 2/0 circle hook and wacky-rigged a TRD and on the 2nd attempt, I caught the fish. Couldn't have done that without an exposed hook.

I think the fact that they don’t push googan baits period should kinda tip you off to the answer you’re looking for. I mean, it could be that they are kinda brand loyal to their own brand yes.. BUT I can’t think of any other bait company they haven’t talked about or recommended some products from at one point or another. With that said I like googan’s soft plastics, they work but they aren’t anything revolutionary.
