Love it! The Great Late James Mackracken with the Sublime Leontyne Price. Artistically, a match made in heaven…no words can encapsulate this magic…OMG!
She is one of the greatest artists of the XX. century. I am very proud of her although I am not American. She is directly responsible for my love of opera. She is not a soprano, she is a weapon. I have no defense against her. I can only close my eyes and fly with her to the musical dreams. I'll tell you a secret. The chart of lyrical sopranos is not led by Callas, but by someone completely else. Who is that lady? Try to guess, maybe you can get it.
No comment is needed. But I often say to myself that now there are many, many famous sopranos who would be happy if they, once in their life, could sing as Leontyne Price did during her farewell Aida at the age of 57.....
McCracken was in poor voice when the opera began, but became much better as the performance progressed and his voice warmed accordingly. Price has some trouble here and there. But her voice retains much of its richness --

There will never be another like her whose voice blazed a golden path throughout the musical sphere…. Thank you Leontyne Price
This lady was incredible! Another great American! Thank you, Ms. Price for delighting and amazing opera goers!
God bless you, dear lady!

The sheer penetrating power and force is reverberating from the screen to my ears and it is indescribable how beautiful ❤️ this sound is.💓
