Jeremiah, The 4 gospels, and James + Proverbs are what you can read through to get understanding of Gods character, what Jesus has done for you, and wisdom. I've heard that when your body goes to sleep while hearing a powerful word, it's because the subconscious mind is required to take whatever the message is in. Your awake state would resist it, so your mind actually takes over in order to receive it. I used to feel shame for falling asleep and then I heard this explained by someone delivering God's word and it made so much sense to me. I can still feel the transformation or direction inside me from the delivering of the message, even if I can't consciously recall the actual words used since I was asleep lol. Jeremiah, The 4 gospels, and James + Proverbs are what you can read through to get understanding of Gods character, what Jesus has done for you, and wisdom. I've heard that when your body goes to sleep while hearing a powerful word, it's because the subconscious mind is required to take whatever the message is in. Your awake state would resist it, so your mind actually takes over in order to receive it. I used to feel shame for falling asleep and then I heard this explained by someone delivering God's word and it made so much sense to me. I can still feel the transformation or direction inside me from the delivering of the message, even if I can't consciously recall the actual words used since I was asleep lol. You're not missing out either way :)
