Even Jefferson and Monroe. Then take a swing at almost every East to west street. If you can stay off the roads

The one thing you should "not do" is walk in standing water!
Powerlines could be submerged, and might be charged.
I reported on an entire famliy that got electrocuted, while walking in standing water.
During Hurricane Andrew, my crew, and myself all got shocked (standing water) as we went LIVE on the air!
Dropped my camera, reported dropped the mic, while our Live truck operator jumped from his truck.

The storm's origin always meant that it was going to have to go over several hundred miles of mexico before it even got to Socal, so it was always going to weaken, zero chance it was going to be a hurricane for us. If it had a clear path to California, then different story and I would've been the first out of town if that was the case.. Homes were damaged and the roads were falling down on the coastline on the beachside. The erosion caused by huge ocean wave surges took the sand out from UNDER the roads and they collapsed. That was only a category 1. You ALWAYS HAVE TO prepare for the WORST and hope for the best. You shouldn’t be disappointed that things weren’t worse, it is a blessing, I have lived here 25 years. Thank God we just got wet the whole time. No strong winds and no flood. National City in San Diego, which is 10 mis drive north of Chula Vista or 15 mins north of Tijuana.
Road now dry here waking up 6a.
People are going to pack the beach as some did wing surfing still yesterday as today school is out.
Last storm 1939 was LA. San Diego last storm was 1800s per wiki.
