I had a hard time reading the bible. My whole life. Out of nowhere, it clicked. I also started praying more and although I believed I surrendered myself to God, I did not. When you really surrender yourself to God, your eyes, heart and soul awaken. No matter what happens in this world, how bad things are and will get worse; I am at peace. I am not afraid. I feel only love. That's the key, that's the real deal. Complete surrender and trust, no matter what he throws at you in this world it is only a testing ground for the next great adventure. Heaven.

The doctors almost gave up but luckily my mom just received enough blood to be alive. Thank the person that saved my Mom's life who is amazingly my piano teacher's dad. Just only 1 drip less of blood the doctors said she wouldve already died. Thank you Lord.

@@smanojvr I will pray for you that you will not be lost in other religions. What proof do you have that your god is real. Have you experienced your god or have other people just said he is real and you've been raised in that religion. What are your spiritual gifts. If you cannot answer this question you don't know the real God. Is heaven and hell real. Yes they are and the devil is trying to lie to you and tell you that Gods not real. Have you heard your god speak to you. In being a Christian you don't have to give money you don't have to sacrifice because god died for everyone already, there's no forcing to do anything, it's all by choice to have a relationship, because that's what God is. He's plain and simple a relationship who has to offer more than the world can give you. He has a plan for you. Do you even have a God because the bible says God loves all no matter our faults or sins and you should thank him that you are alive because he gives you life, and you are not promised to wake up tomorrow. IF the devil can get you to say tomorrow, you have already lost because you have no idea that God wants you to wake up tomorrow. Nobody worships a God who is not real except the people who are corrupt and don't know about false gods and false prophets. I pray that God opens your eyes and you will see. I pray that God speaks to you really soon and that you will have an experience with him that you will know is only from him. Who do you think gave the first person ever life. Because if you say the monkeys I'm going to laugh. And who gave those monkeys life. I dare you to give God a chance and don't give him a little bit of you. Give him your all and mean it, because when you are hungry to know him he will answer you. Read the Holy Bible and it will answer anything you have to ask. God is not only a father but a friend and he will talk to you literally about anything. God loves you. It is no coincidence that I seen your comment out of all of the comments.

I'm also part of the John-the-Baptiser-wasn't-neutral camp. In Matthew 11 I would argue that John cleverly sends out his disciples to ask Yeshua (Jesus) if he is the "erchomenos", (the expected One), so they can hear and see FOR THEMSELVES that they have a new Rabbi now. The "expected One" truly has arrived! Yeshua, in the same chapter, infers that John is an exceptional Prophet who fulfilled the scripture (Malachi 3:1)... there is nothing neutral in that. Everything before this moment points to John's complete faith that Yeshua is the Messiah. That being said, I LOVE what the Bible Project is doing... phenomenal stuff!

18John’s disciples told him about all these things. Calling two of them, 19he sent them to the Lord to ask, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”
20When the men came to Jesus, they said, “John the Baptist sent us to you to ask, ‘Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?’ ”
21At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind. 22So he replied to the messengers, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy a are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. 23Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”
24After John’s messengers left, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swayed by the wind? 25If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear expensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces. 26But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. 27This is the one about whom it is written:
“ ‘I will send my messenger ahead of you,
who will prepare your way before you.’ b
28I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”

I used to be a Christian. When I was 17, I read the Bible cover to cover and could no longer deny that much of the Bible is not factually true.
I have started reading it again, trying to find out what story these authors were trying to tell. As Joseph Campbell taught, stories can be myths rather than material reality, and still be interesting and sometimes useful.
I do like this informative video.

Many people are content with their basic understanding of the teaching of
God's word and feel no need to question that understanding. However,
some, through thorough search of the Scriptures have realized the need
to amend their views It is well known that truth stands under scrutiny
and our faith will only be strengthened by such an examination for,in,
the words of Paul, " a person should....keep testing whether you are in
    the faith" (2 Corinth.13:5)

John the Baptist should be listed under positive acceptance of Jesus. He asked his followers to ask if Jesus was indeed the one they have been waiting for, or should they look for another one for their own sake. For them to see Jesus works themselves. John the Baptist new Jesus was the son of God even before being born. When Mary visited Johns mom while they were pregnant. John Chrysotom and Theophylact have great commentaries on the Gospels. They explain it very well.

I decided to join this plan because Jesus commanded us to go make disciples. To make disciples of Christ, you must be led by the Holy Spirit & study & know the Word of God. I am studying to show myself approved.
God has nudged my heart about evangelizing recently (past week). I haven't been able to shake it. I will comply with His Word.
Let us keep the last commandment Jesus gave to us. We can do it. Happy evangelism to us all! ❤

    • @timoteoharvey
      @timoteoharvey 5 лет назад +17

I think he used the three terms "negative", "neutral" and "positive" to make a neat continuum for his presentation. But I don't think neutral is the word to describe Jesus' cousin or his other family members at this point in time. I think John was doubtful, unsure, maybe even vacillating in his belief which is understandable because he was in jail and was to eventually be beheaded. He was in a really tough place. He foresaw his own probable death looming on the horizon and things might not have been coming together as he had expected.
Maybe he could have used "believing", "doubtful or reserved" and "unbelieving" for his continuum.

    • @mj-np9wb

    • @latishawakenya5962
      @latishawakenya5962 4 года назад +6

Wow guys. Your argument is well based but you need to dive in abit deeper and will understand that indeed John the babtist can actually be described as neutral.
The Holy Spirit made it clear to J the B that Jesus was the sent one for when babtising Him a voice was heard from heaven affirming this. Even the doubters, pharasees, saddees all heard it.
However J the B would later be imprisoned (read the story) and him knowing the scriptures and prophesy (as we all should) was asking and reffering to Isaiah 61 where the Mesiah would open prisons etc.
Jesus's answer (Luke 7) was that in Isaiah 35.
So J the B was kinda jumping the gun expecting to see Isaiah 61 fulfilled while Jesus was fulfilling the Isaiah 35 prophesy.
So ja, J the B was kinda neutral but i'm sure he understood Jesus's answer otherwise Jesus would not have given it and He is well tucked in in heaven and we will meet him.
We take from this to trust God even when things don't seem to work our ways. Trust Him.
      Hope that helped a bit🤝🤝

People can lose faith my friend, John later on in prison doubted Jesus being the messiah by sending someone to ask Jesus to clarify being the Messiah since he wasn't sure. This is why Jesus said that John is greater than any man on earth but the least in the kingdom of heaven will be greater than John the Baptist.

Trust Him.
      Hope that helped a bit🤝🤝

it doesn't seem to me in those verses that John is neutral but that he is confirming (while imprisoned) that the messiah has truly arrived. he was, after all, the one who prepared the way for Jesus.

      Luke 7:18-28
