    Josh, How about a 1 hour introduction to wanna-be developers. I've been programming microcontrollers since the late 90s and Arduino for probably 10 years. I'd like to get involved with the project in some aspect. Tell us how to get started helping you or creating accessories, what to read, what you recommend. Currently my interest is in developing CANbus dashboards using existing, available OEM hardware.

      I can do that! So with a focus on how to interface with a Speeduino unit (over CAN or Serial) or more how to get into adding features and things?

      As a developer interested in Speeduino I second this. I vote adding features and things. Keen to see how you guys would improve, create, or troubleshoot trigger wheel code for example.

      I third this motion
      I’m a student who wants to eventually develop an open source PDM, but I also just want to contribute where I can. A general run down of the code would be amazing. Just reading through the GitHub and pointing to where what is in the code would be perfect.

    Much enthusiasm for this deliverable, waiting with patience and tons of excitement to get tuning in eight channels!
    Best of luck for a speedy and successful V2 of the long awaited DropBear!
    Sounds like I will find another use for my lonely Teensy 3.5 Cool dash connectivity also, wow!
    Rock on Josh!!

    Nice work on the updated presentation format. The live swapping between hardware closeups and schematic views was really informative. Superb progress, DBV2 has some really nice improvements.

    A European union distributor is needed with UK out of the union there is a gap, it would definitely increase volume of sales not having to deal with custom declaration per order

      and with the UK out of the EU, the taxes are way to high to choose a speeduino over like a ms3 or motorsports electonic controler.

      I am in the US and don't fully grasp the struggles you folks face. If getting these from the US is an easier option, I plan to crank out quite a few of these once Josh releases the schematics. If needed, I can actually build custom plug and play versions as well.

  • @elsmeat
    @elsmeat 2 месяца назад +1

    Josh! OMG thank you for being the brains behind my biggest dreams, lol. I have designed, built and installed about a dozen different versions of speeduino based ECUs for friends, clients and myself. All of my work so far has been loosely based on V0.4 but usually configured in plug and play format for various platforms. I had been slowly working on my own version of the Dropbear based on the Teensy 4.1 following the demise of the 3.5. Any idea when you'll be releasing the schematics for your Dropbear V2? I have been wanting to build a full sequential ECU for a twin turbo LS project. As always, mate, I love your work and look forward to your face in the next video.

    Great projects! 😍
    I would be very happy to be able to buy one of your first Dropbear ECUs. Will the price be around the same as the V1 (420-450 AUD)? When do you think the first production batch will be ready?
    Regarding wide band lambda via CAN: Would a 14Point7 "Spartan 3" be supported?
    Oh yes, the new Wifi/BT module is compatible with Tunerstudio and MSDroid, right?
    Greetings from Germany

    Could you offer the new USB C external port for Dropbear V1 owners to retrofit? My MicroUSB port is starting to become intermittent and causing disconnects. Also, regarding the new ESP32 WIFI/Bluetooth card, can this be retrofitted to a V1?

    Heard you guys looking for a connection for RJ45 type of connection and want to keep it waterproof, a good source to keep RJ45 and have a waterproof connector is 4G or 5G outdoor router enclosures use a waterproof RJ45 gland type of connector that when assembled are waterproof and are cheap AF! May be something to consider, you could cut the male plug off from it and soldier the wire's on to the board or terminate it with another type of connector to plug into the board!

    im a bit confused about the battery situation, for 1225 I can't find any "rechargeable" version? but you said if you drive the car it charges. I know for CR2032 theres also people that "try" to charge them but end up ruining the cell shortly after

    Can we use speeduino for commonrail diesel?

    • @cannaroe1213
      @cannaroe1213 4 месяца назад +2

      I think no but there are lot of people who love speeduino who would also be interested and motivated to do this. I would! Problem is it's a totally different combustion algorithm, and the injectors are a bit more complicated (multiple injections per cycle etc), while on the other hand there are diesels that are almost entirely manual with just a bit of modification possible by the ECU (cold start etc). So... it would be more like a sister project I think. But Speeduino has done 99% of the work already still, because of the UI/UE overlap

    Is there any reason the Ver 1 can't be back fitted with the longer service battery? May need to kluge a socket for it. Also can't make out the battery part number in the video. We would like this as we but the car away for 5 months or so in the winter.

    • @Speeduino
      @Speeduino  4 месяца назад +2

      It would be a struggle to get it to physically fit on the board, but there's no reason you couldn't solder some wires onto the battery pads and put one somewhere else. Keep in mind it's only for the RTC on the SD logs, but if that's something you need then I can understand wanting to increase the battery size
