    I guess you could say with the two shades of powder... She's "two faced" hah haha hahaha. I apologize for that pun...

  • @TianaSmith

    You can tell a difference between the too. The "golden light" side adds a more golden yellow tone to your skin. The one you don't like looks a lot better. Just my opinion.

    bunny,the coverage doesn't change depending on the shade,its the same formula/coverage on all the shades

      also you don't apply powder foundation correctly,you are supposed to stipple it not buffing it around you lose coverage that way

    I think the golden one looks almost..healthier, kind of. The light one looks really pale. I mean, I'd go for the fair one personally, because I prefer light sides to my pale face.
    But the golden one looks better, in my opinion. (Also matches your sunny disposition, as well.)

  • @eljay1092
    @eljay1092 10 лет назад +41

    If you wear a liquid foundation or a primer it might look better. Also if you wear the lighter shade under your eyes and set your concealer, you may like it more. I actually don't think it by itself looks bad at all. Do a tutorial with it for a night out or something! :) you may like it with other products!

      +ashisawolf very true. I meant to get the most longevity out of the product throughout the day. Myself personally, I wouldn't wear the powder by itself since it'll probably wear off after a few hours. I guess I just don't like having to do touch ups throughout the day either though. 😉😊

    Oddly enough I think the fairest color looks better as far as coverage goes. I can definitely see a noticeable difference between the two colors. I think before returning it, try using it as a setting powder, but as far as a foundation, I would return it, that's only my opinion if you are only planning to use it by itself cuz I feel there could be a better product out there that performs better

      Couldnt of said it better myself. The fairest one also matched her skin tone better, but than again my face naturally is a shade or two darker than the rest of my body so on the fence with that angle. However the golden tint looked off to me since the rest of her skin has a cool undertone.

      I honestly don't like either one of the foundation shades. From what I'm seeing they don't really do anything. And neither one is the right color. I think this is a miss Bunny. :(

  • @strgazr04
    @strgazr04 10 лет назад +11

    As a fellow fair toned girl, I can tell you that the reason the lightest color of foundation hardly seems to have coverage is because it is usually more pink toned. If you are neutral or yellow toned (or have redness), anything with a pink undertone will only bring out your redness and uneven coloring even more.
    The darker foundation shade doesn't match you. There's a distinct line of demarcation. I would say if you really want to use it as a foundation, maybe try a shade in between the two you just purchase. Or simply use the fairest shade as a setting powder for when you use liquid foundation. Honestly though, your skin looks so flawless using the It Cosmetics foundation. I have that myself and would just stick with that.

      @happygina7 10 лет назад +79

      Guess what? Girls don't wear makeup to impress you!!! This may come to a shock to you, but the world doesn't revolve around you! Makeup can be used to cover flaws but it's also a form of expression and art, but on your face. Even if it is used for flaws, she feels confident, so it doesn't concern you. Its obvious, if you've ever watched any of her videos, that she doesn't care about what people think of flaws, acne, etc. She doesn't even wear makeup in half of her videos, and sometimes even points out when she's breaking out. She wears makeup because she wants to! Not to impress a boy!

      I have worn makeup since the age of 13 (I'm now 36) and as most other women, I don't wear it for anyone else but myself.I feel so much better when I wear make up, to me, leaving the house without it would be like leaving without my shoes.Its a personal choice, we don't care what men think about our makeup ;) I've had men compliment me on my natural look and tell me how amazing I look without makeup on etc, yet I am *always* wearing makeup...they don't have a clue either way lol.A woman can be LOADED with makeup and still look super natural, and you guys wouldent even know until you saw her fresh out of bed ;) I bet that more than half the women you thought were beautiful with no makeup on were wearing SOMETHING ;)

    I hate shopping for foundation because a lot of top products only make shades for lighter people. When you said it was cocoa based, I got excited because I thought they would have shades for dark skinned people (idk.. I guess cocoa in my brain meant brown. -_-) but when you said that the Golden Light was the 3rd darkest shade, I am yet again disappointed. All rambling aside, the Fair shade looks best on you, Bunny! :)

    • @constancelodge8849
      @constancelodge8849 9 лет назад +3

      when you go on sephora, its actually not. I think she messed up because it's actually the third lightest, not the darkest. The darkest one is deep tan, but i think if your anywhere near my shade, it might still be too light. you could always use it as a highlighter shade for contouring.

    I always have problems with foundations. I'm very pale with red undertones. A lot of foundations are yellow based so I always struggle with either the lightness of the shade or the amount of yellow undertones in it. If it's too yellow, I look jaundice... Not attractive. Same goes with bronzers and self tanners. Way too much yellow undertones for my pale skin

  • @weirdrabbitgirl
    @weirdrabbitgirl 10 лет назад +1

    Bunny, since your main skin problem seems to be the redness from acne/rosacea (I have the rosacea problem), you might have way better results with foundations by using green primers. The smashbox one was okay, and has skin calming effects, but I didn't feel like it was effective enough for the level of redness we get with pale skin. I highly recommend trying Etude House. They have a green primer that changed my whole routine, and they also have a green 'cushion foundation' that also works really well on me. Have a go at it! It's really cheap, and I think you'd love it.

  • @toniight1
    @toniight1 10 лет назад +14

    yeah i definitely don't think golden light is the shade for you. it's way too yellow and makes you a bit sickly, and the contrast between the foundation on your neck and your skin is too apparent. i do agree, though, that the fair shade pretty much gave zero coverage.

    I like the golden better than the fair. I'm sure with concealer on your other areas combined with a powder that it would work. :) also, you should try the jamberry nail wraps. I'm still on the fence about them and would love to hear your opinion on them. I've heard mixed reviews, some good, some bad.

    • @kimberleighdixon4497
      @kimberleighdixon4497 10 лет назад

      My friend is a seller of them, I just tried Jamberry's for the first time... there are some pros and some cons...
      1. they come in a strip for 2 mani's and 2 pedi's
      2. they take practice, you have to make sure you buff your nail and then use nail polish remover on the nail to dry it out. Then you have to make sure that the wrap doesnt touch any part of the skin when applying because it wont stick to the skin and make your wraps come up easier.
      3. I found that they last a few days, but mine were peeling up on the sides, (and I didn't touch the skin).
      4. I had them on for 6 days and finally took them off cause they were bugging me.
      5. Honestly, I think that there are better ways to spend $15. but I'm glad I tried it anyway.

    I CANNOT for the life of me just get away with using powder as foundation. Ever. I am also very pale, so maybe this only effects us...but the only time I ever use powders is to go on top of my liquid foundation, just to slightly matte-ify my skin. I really don't think it's supposed to be used as a cover-up at all.

    Even with full coverage, you're not going to cover everything. You're not supposed to cover everything. Ive seen a lot of people expect full coverage to cover all of your acne, but THATS NOT WHAT FOUNDATION IS FOR! If you want your acne covered, use a good concealer! Foundation is literally just to even your skin tone.

    Bunny! I know you might not see this but if you do, I have the same issue with SUPER LIGHT foundations and not having enough coverage. I found and tried and LOVE the most amazing foundation on the planet. It's Revlon Color Stay 24 hour lasting foundation.
    I got the lightest shade for my undertone, as well as the one for my skin type which is combination/oily (they have one for normal/dry skin as well)
    It stays ALL DAY, and the coverage is INCREDIBLE. It is a cream foundation so idk if you would like it but it's only $10 so it's not a bad loss of you don't. It's 24 hour lasting foundation.
    Hope you see this and like the recommendation!
    Also I LOVE YOU ❤️ stay amazing please c:

      I've noticed what you guys mentioned before, too, and always wondered why in the world there aren't better ranges of color in the darker ranges. But also, as a pale person, like Bunny I've found that the lightest shades often don't work very well for me. They either feel like they do nothing or the color is completely off. So between the lack of options at all for a huge portion of the population, and the existing options that don't work well for a portion of the population, it's a wonder if foundation works out properly for anyone...

    It helps with powder foundation to put a moisturizer on before application. I use powder foundation everyday. It's the Aveda Dual mineral foundation which is Def. Full coverage (and beautiful) if you ever want to try it out. If I'm feeling a little dry I will even use a face oil underneath. The moisture helps it stick better for full coverage and it also helps the powder look less powder-y once it settles in. You can also layer powder foundation and mist rose water in between layers for more coverage without looking too powdered. Also I have oily/acne prone skin but moisture is still important. My foundation doesn't work very well if I just apply it after washing my face without moisturizer.

    lol. I'm a 26 year old guy and I usually only watch your does this thing really work videos, but when I saw Cocoa Powder I thought CHOCOLATE! So I watched this. As someone who cares absolutely in no way about makeup (ie a guy) I think the golden one makes you look like your liver is experiencing failure. It's not so much of a golden glow as it is a... my body isn't detoxing kind of color. Would I notice it if somebody didn't point it out? Maybe, maybe not.. I think the "pink" one looks better. Obviously I'm in the minority though. I should note I don't like chicks wearing foundation, it freaks me out anyways, so the pink one just looks more natural to me.

    I find pale foundations so hit and miss, they are either way too yellow or border on being white (and offer bugger all coverage). it's like they get to a certain stage and instead of using the pink/yellow pigments they switch to talc, so my options are either looking like a Simpson or a ghost.

    Being a natural redhead, I'm also extremely naturally pale. I definitely feel the frustration you were talking about. It's very hard to find foundations in my color that aren't super expensive, let alone give decent coverage. In my experience, I get the best coverage by putting on the lightest shade of concealer on the parts I need it most and then a one shade darker foundation. I still look pale, but it definitely helps give a medium to full coverage.

    The darker shade is too yellow for your skin tone. You have a lot of pink undertones to your skin so when you add a foundation with yellow tones it doesn't look right. You should be using a concealer for your 'face demons' and particularly red spots. If you did that then it'd probably look a lot better.

    Bunny (et al), darker foundation will act as a colour corrector as long as it's in the right tone for your skin and has enough coverage. I use a foundation or concealer that is two shades darker to cover my redness and dark circles, then use my actual shade on the rest of my face - blending in the edges of course. The whole "lighter to hide circles" thing is a common fallacy and will lend you greyness under the eyes by the end of the day and will never truly cover redness.
    Can't wait to try this foundation!
    Thumbs up!

It's such a life saver for me at this point, 'cause my foundations actually match me now! MAC does one as well, but costs about three times as much lol.

      Try Bare Minerals it's a little pricey and it's a powder but they have like hundreds of shades, it doesn't look cakey, and the pressed powder one has lasted me ages I went to Debenhams to get a match because I'm ginger and have very light skin and I would never go to another (liquid) or foundation ever again x

    I, too, have super fair skin and you are not alone. The struggle to find a good foundation match is real. My take on the foundation here is that it would make for a good setting powder for a liquid foundation. Tbh, the light color matches your natural tone better, and if you want to wear the darker color make sure to blend it down your throat as well so you won't end up with that two tone look. I agree that this looks more like a light to medium coverage foundation, instead of a stand alone product.

      Yeah okay, but if you have sensitive skin or are prone to breakouts, just no. Hell no. Mostly, you get what you pay for when it comes to cosmetics!!

      I have very sensitive skin and not a lot of drug store make up breaks me out. You just have to be careful of what you get, not all of it is going to break you out .-.

      Actually I use ALL Ulta makeup! I use to have horrible reactions to most expensive brand makeup. And then decided to try their brand and couldn't believe it..my pimples went away and my swollen eyes were no more. I know for some ppl they think an expensive price tag means a better product but it's actually the opposite.

    YES!!! Pale girl issues!! I have that as well! The color that matches just disappears! I like to get a color with a bit of pink in it since ones with a yellow undertone can go orange on me! I love your videos!!
