I just did this trail in my SxS for UTV takeover and I took the bypass for you Gotta Be Nuts. Let me just say video does absolutely no justice how steep this climb is,it's frigging insane. Even the bypass is extremely sketchy. The Maze is absolutely a must do if your looking for that rush,definitely gets your heart pumping. Awesome video guys!🔥🔥🔥

I ran it during TH in my XJ on 33's LOL!!! My front only lifted off the ground 3 times going up it! We have over 150 miles of jeep trails in the county where I live that no youtuber has been on that I know of. We are also close to hollerwood and black mountain off road parks.

Do you guys air your tires down if you don’t you should buy and arb air down tool and try and air down when you offroad it will give you tons more grip
We normally run about 5-6 lbs of air in our tires!! You probably just can’t tell because these TSL SX tires have such a solid sidewall they don’t fold, and they were brand new this trip 😁😁

It’s a L92 6.2 GEN 4 LS engine with a nasty Brian Tooley cam (stage 2) the sound has a lot to do with the Mangnaflow muffler in it!! Thanks so much for watching 😁😁😁
Bear with me for a few moments here - I have *ZERO* experience rock crawling and little-to-no experience driving off-road in the dirt, sand, mud, snow - blah,blah. But I do however - have many years experience installing / repairing / balancing tires - - and do have a basic concept of physics, so here we go on my current thought process. - - First of all - Where the tire itself is concerned - If you're attempting to drive up a steep / slick rock surface, having a large amount of surface area in-between these big tread lugs is simply a waste of 'potential' traction. As a sales pitch and also the truth - When a customer comes into your store looking for an 'off-road' tire that also offers high mileage - the general rule-of-thumb is that the more tread you have contacting the road, the longer the tire will last. These deep lugs may be great for plowing through soft dirt, gravel and mud, but make no sense to me whatosoever if you're going to use them primarily for crawling up and over large rocks / boulders... If your 40" tires are 13.50 inches in section width, you've got what? Maybe about 10" - 12" across the tread itself? And those gaps in between the tread lugs is where you're losing maybe up to 3" of that 'potential' surface area, or traction. If you look at 'Drag Slicks' - they have NO tread. They would not work well for climbing rocks, as you need at least 'some' grooves to act as 'fingers' to grab at the irregular surfaces in the rock. Anyway - my point is that 'IF' someone manufactured and tested a tread pattern that was closer together - like an 'ALL-TERRAIN' is... made the tread a full inch deep... put 'sipes' in each tread lug close to an inch deep - these tires would offer 2-3 inches more SURFACE AREA to grab onto an hold onto these rock surfaces. Secondly - Your Jeep / 4x4 has to be lifted pretty high to clear anywhere between 33" - 44" tires and the higher you go, the higher your Center Of Gravity is. A high COG and all that weight transfer to the rear as you're accelerating UP a steep INCLINE simply 'unloads' the weight off of your front suspension. Added to that action is the extreme torque generated through your driveline and into your frame that also attempts to basically 'wheelie' your Jeep / 4x4. As silly as it may sound - If you were to add water to the inside of your FRONT tires - I would imagine that filling them even halfway up would add about 400 pounds to each tire - or 800 extra pounds to the front end. Would this help to keep the front tires planted against the rock you're attempting to ascend - - or would the added weight / centrifugal forces of 25 gallons of water in each tire throw your suspension into a convulsion - and break your axles, shatter your ring-and-pinion and cause an epic loss of control??
First off thanks so much for watching our channel!! 😁😁 And second, the 43” Interco sticky SX swampers we are running are a tested/ tried and true lug pattern and design!! We love the rugged tread especially on the sidewalls, on curtain obstacles it’s the difference between making it or not!! If we were strictly doing slick rock it probably would be beneficial to go with a tire that has more tread surface area, but we wheel in the snow, mud, trees logs ect. Filling the front tires with water would help a lot on a steep slick obstacle for sure but it’s not practical because on the way back we love going fast and all the extra unsprung weight would negatively effect the suspension at speed!! Our Jeeps aren’t super purpose built, they are made to be good at everything, not incredible at just 1 thing!! Thanks again for watching 🙏🏼😁
Thanks for the reply - not only because I know you saw and appreciated it, but also because you mentioned 'unsprung weight'. Although I'll admit the more I've thought about, the more it seemed like a bad idea to add water to the front tires - - my goal was to keep the weight where it's most needed and not on the frame itself, as all that extra weight on your suspension would more-than-likely be a lot worse than any potential benefits of a little more traction.

As silly as it may sound - If you were to add water to the inside of your FRONT tires - I would imagine that filling them even halfway up would add about 400 pounds to each tire - or 800 extra pounds to the front end. Would this help to keep the front tires planted against the rock you're attempting to ascend - - or would the added weight / centrifugal forces of 25 gallons of water in each tire throw your suspension into a convulsion - and break your axles, shatter your ring-and-pinion and cause an epic loss of control??
That’s why tractors fill the tires above the top of the rim… minimizes any sloshing and makes for a smoother ride.
First off thanks so much for watching our channel!! 😁😁 And second, the 43” Interco sticky SX swampers we are running are a tested/ tried and true lug pattern and design!! We love the rugged tread especially on the sidewalls, on curtain obstacles it’s the difference between making it or not!! If we were strictly doing slick rock it probably would be beneficial to go with a tire that has more tread surface area, but we wheel in the snow, mud, trees logs ect. Filling the front tires with water would help a lot on a steep slick obstacle for sure but it’s not practical because on the way back we love going fast and all the extra unsprung weight would negatively effect the suspension at speed!! Our Jeeps aren’t super purpose built, they are made to be good at everything, not incredible at just 1 thing!! Thanks again for watching 🙏🏼😁
Thanks for the reply - not only because I know you saw and appreciated it, but also because you mentioned 'unsprung weight'. Although I'll admit the more I've thought about, the more it seemed like a bad idea to add water to the front tires - - my goal was to keep the weight where it's most needed and not on the frame itself, as all that extra weight on your suspension would more-than-likely be a lot worse than any potential benefits of a little more traction.
I hate to imagine what it would cost to convert my bone stock 2018 JL into something like the burgundy Jeep.
