I received my Dyson Air Straight on Friday and I’m impressed with the results. The length of the plug is a major disappointment/disadvantage! I’m unable to use it in any bedroom due to the space between the electrical socket and counter top/skirting board. I wish Dyson had put a box on the cable like the US version. It is fantastic isn’t it? I do agree with you completely though about the length of the lead. It is really frustrating. I am now able to use mine with an extension lead without any problems although I am not sure I should advise anyone do this as I don’t know if this is safe. But I have done this now for two months daily without a problem.
i just purchased as it just been released in Australia, my hair is pretty much the same as yours ..& have been with the GHD straighteners as long as you , and before that was my mums iron & Ironing board ! My hair health was getting worse with age 51 !My GHD are sadly now in the draw and I cant see i will bring them out again .. The only thing I have been doing is using a small round brush to get in & dry my roots , i find this works the best for me . yes its expensive , Its worth every cent !

I received my set yesterday and, like you, I ran over my dry hair with them in boost and cool. I slept on it last night. Only think I would say is I needed to do was to use the irons to bend the ends slightly. Hair wash day is in couple of days so can’t wait to see how that turns out. I have thick, wavy hair in a can length graduated Bob. Hate the plug.
The plug is enormous and I do wish the cable was longer. I agree it’s not great at curling your ends under. I’ve resisted using my flat irons still since receiving this as I really want to improve my hair health, but I’m tempted to get my ghds out to curl the ends! 🤣. I’m still very impressed with it on the whole though. ❤️
@@hanbeauty101 yes impressed so far. I normally do Dyson airwrap and then cloud wide plate straighteners and get about 5 days before I need to wash again (benefits of a post menopausal 61 yo. 😂).

@@hanbeauty101 It arrived today and I used it to dry my fine, wavy, can’t leave the house without straightening it daily hair, and oh my word, my hair feels wonderful! It dried sooo quickly and it’s beautifully straight! Normally I have to blitz it/rough dry it and go over it with straighteners but not after using this! I’m so impressed! It is expensive but if I can get away with packing my straighteners away like yourself, it’s worth every penny! ♥️

You should try it with your hair wetter and the middle heat. I’m sure they said the wetter the better. I think you’ll get a better result. Oh, and section it a bit more and it’ll be easier.
Thank you, I have been using this when my hair is more wet and on the highest setting and this has been my best way to do it since. My hair health is improving all the time. I do plan on doing an update video soon. I love this Device.
@@hanbeauty101 I’m pleased you’re getting used to it. I have it too and I love it. The first time I used it my hair was towel dry and it took longer to get it straight and shiny than it does now when I do it on wet hair. I never have to use the dry setting afterwards, just the cold shot to set. I think it’s brilliant. I find that it stays straight longer and I don’t need to touch it up the next day. My hair is very fine and prone to breaking and this is going to make such a difference. Look forward to seeing your update.
@@deewilkes4727 that’s great news! I have to use the dry setting one each morning as my hair will get frizzy and wavy overnight, so it hasn’t reduced the time I need to style my hair but my hair health has definitely improved using just this ❤️
i got mine two weeks' ago - it is pretty amazing - i got it purely for less damage compared to the irons - however - i have curly hair - and it works so well, however it will dry like fly away hair once you are done and is just straight - i need my straighteners to get that "polished" look.
I find that if I dry with the highest heat setting and use the coconut cocktail from Colorwow I get the same finish and don’t need my hot irons. It’s a fab device isn’t it? ❤
it is totally amazing for no damage - however even with products, it is always going to have flyaways and that slight "fluff" look even if flat and is not as smooth as a straightener - id say this only as i have curly hair - if you don't then i think you can bin the straighteners. It's a game changer though. great review! Maybe as i have broken hair from straighteners it shows up. @@hanbeauty101
@@mspen6464 yes my hair is quite thin and wavy so probably straightens more easily. It’ll be interesting to see in the summer if this will still do the job when you add warm weather to the mix ❤️
How are you liking it a month on? I just got mine and can’t wait to try. My hair is naturally straight but just looking for something to dry it fast and give it a little bit of a more polished finish
I will be filming an update video for this when I reach my third month, but if I tell you, I haven’t used any other device so far and my hair is super shiny and healthy - I think that answers your question! This is an incredible product ❤
Can you do an update after a while of use on if this helps the health of your hair? If it dosnt cause any serious damage that would be a game changer

I am getting on very well with it. My hair health has improved and I am getting a real shine. I haven’t used my GHD straighteners once since filming this video. I’m over the moon with it to be honest. I will be filming an update video in April. ❤️

I haven’t tried the GHD hot air styler, they are very expensive so I won’t be investing in another one. I went for this one based on US reviews from people with similar hair to me. It’s very expensive but I’m hoping it’ll be worth it if my hair health improves ❤️

The ghd one is nearly £400 so a big investment.
I’ve got the stain hairdryer and the other one with the attachment.
I only really use the dryer

Thankyou for this review very helpful. A keratin treatment would further improve your hair texture and possibly further reduce your drying time! I’ve had one recently and wish I had done it sooner. I have the air wrap purchased summer 2023 so won’t be investing in this just yet! 😊
@@tanzelatz you are welcome! I’ll try a keratin treatment. I just tried the Colour Wow leave in coconut treatment before drying and had even better results, hair is much silkier. I have managed to not touch my GHDs all week so I’m very impressed ❤️
