Another very informative segment from the Man himself! Of course your sling bag is going to be as personal as a women's purse. Some things are common to all, and some things are carried based on the situation you are faced with. Over the course of years, I had loaded my bag down with a lot of things. I cleaned it out, reorganized it, and the difference is amazing. But most of all, thank you Tom for sharing your bag with us!
Glad I’m not the only one that packs more than what I probably need while on the water! 😅
Thanks Tom. Have a great day.
The real question is... after filming, did you harvest some of those fiddleheads?
Great question
Curious- I’ve used a chest pack for many years, I’ve thought about getting a sling pack to get things out of the way…Are the sling packs comfortable, especially on the shoulder/neck?
I cannot speak for Tom but I do find them very comfortable and easy to manage. If you put a ton of things in your sling like Tom does, then not sure it would be better than chest bag/backpack style bag. Also, if you wade into deeper water frequently, you will find it needs to be pulled up a bit to keep out of the water. Generally we don't wade that deep. Chest packs definitely have their place in fishing/wading as does the sling bag.
Nice video Tom. Thanks. Is there a version of the guide sling which is designed to be worn over the non-casting (left) shoulder?
Not that I know of, sorry
@@orvisguidetoflyfishing Thanks for your reply. Maybe something to consider in product development? All the best.
I have an Orvis guide sling pack, and we carry almost exactly the same stuff. Pretty eat! I love mine but my question is, how do you carry your net. Thanks Tom.
Tom usually slings it on his bag or puts it ashore when fishing. But reality is he usually makes me (Colin) or Mark carry the net...lol!
Ha!@@orvisguidetoflyfishing
Noticed you are not using the current sling bag. How come?
This was shot a few years ago and at the end of this month we are shooting more content with Tom. So will have him do an updated version of this video with the new bag. Suspect Tom will have new items in the bag as well
@@orvisguidetoflyfishing Thank you :)
You lost me at the stomach pump. I find em cruel. You’re putting those fish through enough stabbing them in the face. The stomach pump is just fuckin rude
