Very nice. Wish I'd seen that sound board before I built my Commlock, but I'm happy with the lighting effects I added. My laser pistol came out even better than the Commlock - I can switch between blue (LED) beams and a real laser. Still, that sound board is a terrific finishing touch!
Love both props, outstanding builds. I was poking through my electronics stash the other day and found a couple of those LCD "keychain" devices for storing pictures of your kids or whatever. They have tiny LCD screens that look like a perfect fit for the commlock, and have USB ports to load images and charge a tiny built-in Li-ion battery. You can step through loaded images or set them to do a slideshow. They're cheap this time of year and should be a great substitute for more involved, expensive display options.
@@TrekWorks I see them on impulse-buy racks at for instance Walmart and other big box stores, hardware stores, any place wit lots of customer traffic. I'm sure they're available online but as we all know, you never know what you're going to get.
Thank you so much for your great videos, Boyd - I've learned so much from them. Have very Happy and safe Hollidays, you and your family and a safe, Happy New Year!
Man that turned out fantastic! You really went above and beyond on this. I've always loved the comlock prop. I may have to pick up this kit. I binge watched the entire series on Amazon Prime about a year ago. There were a couple episodes where Koenig's comlock had the numbers on the buttons all off center or missing altogether! 😆 Excellent work on this! I love it!
They make lot's of cool 1999 stuff. I love their new Eagle and launch pad display with the motorized docking connector. I would have flipped out for that when I was a kid!
Thanks for all the videos time effort and hardwork this year Boyd. I don't really build models myself but always look forward to seeing your great work. I'm a collector of 1/6 figures statues and life size busts. I have never watched space 1999 but will get round to it at some point. Happy Christmas Boyd and to your wife too. Stay safe, Keep well and all the best for 2022.
Great job, congratulations! I’ve a couple of questions for you: 1) what’s the thickness of the styrene plastic screen? 2) which kind of leds did you use?
Yes, in fact there are other builders going all out on these with mini tv screens and micro processors with all kinds of effects. As I mentioned in the video, this build was to show a reasonably easy, low cost way to add some lighting and sounds to the model.
Somebody should make an audio board to go in the model comlocks. The 12/16 version sounds thin and a bad choice of samples for $300. The open-door sound should be wired to an easy to find button and not the number pad. The LEDs on the stun gun should be bright!
Super job there Boyd. Merry Christmas.
It turned out fantastic Boyd great job again...and merry Christmas to u and ur family 🎄🎄🎄🎄
Merry Christmas Ricardo :)
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
This is in the top five best kits yet. Space 1999 kits are great.
Thanks for the 2nd video on the comm lock and stun gun set. Lots of cool info on building it.
Fantastic results Boyd! Love these Space 1999 kits you've been building of late. Looking forward to more of them.👍
Absolutely love your comlock and stungun build, both look brilliant.
WELL on your way to a fine, complete collection of this subject!
Merry Christmas Cal :)

I made sure I got these as soon as came out, can't wait to build these, fantastic job on these.

Thanks, I hope you grab a set. They are very well done and just too cool.
yes they called it the wonky commlock the 1st season were tan construction paper with a clear contact paper coating.
@@felixrodrigues3861 You'd think Martin Landau would not want the Wonky Comlock! 😆
they call that comlock the wonky comlock.
The Sixteen12 prop replicas of these are also very well done.

I really think a pair of model railway sugar cube speakers in parallel would work well here and take up less space.
Looks better than the real movie props Boyd. Love the kit stash adds.👍Happy holidays and hopefullybyiu will get some quality bench time.
Thanks David, Merry Christmas :)

Those are so cool and you did a great job with them. I just may need to get that kit.
Thanks and Merry Christmas Marc :)
@@TrekWorks you also Boyd
Wow, you are amazing.
Thanks for the great video. Could you post the link for possible light kits?
Awesome!
That's pretty cool
Great job!
I’ve seen some very small LED screens. That’s what I’d love to do.
On you next one, add a tiny LCD screen and tiny Raspberry Pi board to play actual video clips of the actors. :)
Is there no way to use the small screen from a SONY Watchman to make the viewscreen for this Commlock?
Yes, in fact there are other builders going all out on these with mini tv screens and micro processors with all kinds of effects. As I mentioned in the video, this build was to show a reasonably easy, low cost way to add some lighting and sounds to the model.
@@TrekWorks Thanks, I didn't know people were already doing that. Now I want to see a Commlock with Alexa AI incorporated into it, haha.
i wpuld like the buy your built up model .....
