I’ve been saying this for almost a decade now. It’s probably because Zack Snyder most likely doesn’t even know what the DCAU is. Him being put in charge of the whole DC universe will always feel like such a random choice when he clearly had no love or knowledge of these characters
@@jovan3686that’s not what Zack Snyder tries to do. His blueprint was for LOTR. He’s only building a 6 movie until the flash would reset the dceu and give the dceu to someone else.
to this day, i have this personal conspiracy theory that at wb/dc, there is a secret, ultra strict, internal mandate that the live action and animation departments do NOT professionally interact with each other and if you cross that line, its career suicide there.
@@jovan3686 100% agreed. my personal conspiracy with him is that wb/dc executives saw the 2012 avengers movie, they actually liked it, saw how much money and good buzz it was getting, noticied that snyder was filming man of steel at the time, and made the super hasty decision to make his movie and himself the forefront of their movie universe to immediately compete with disney/marvel.
For all the choices they made in picking the core seven, thank God they picked Wally West instead of Barry Allen. Before his return, Barry had almost zero personality other than always being late despite being the fastest man alive. And casting Michael Rosenbaum proved serendipitous when Flash and Luthor switched brains in The Great Brain Robbery and he was doing his Lex Luthor from Smallville 😅
@jinpei05 you realize wally was literally supposed to be the revamp Barry they were trying to make him cooler but dc just changed his name to wally, that why their is barely a difference between them, it just Barry but funny and less 🤓 nerd.
Rip to Dywane McDuffie and Stan Lee they will be the greatest animator ever created, and Kevin Conroy will be the best Batman voice actor throughout the tv shows, movies, and video games, Rip to the three amazing people through our childhood
I've always said that if they could translate DC animation to live action, they would be killing it.... They should have just adapted the first 2 season of Justice League as a movie trilogy.
I remember Darkseid's voice in early Superman TAS episodes was distorted. Then they realized Ironside's normal voice is terrifying enough and stuck with it for the better.
This narrative is so bad, because Marvel and Dc are publishers . The writers are the ones who create these characters and story's. Those of us who grew up reading comics new that these writers and creators got published in each brand . Why because they are a fan of the gerne . Dc and Marvel characters are very different in some aspects. Dc characters has this classic superhero feel to it, secret identity, masks , capes and side kicks. While Marvel had characters like spiderman , daredevil and ironman (pre civil war ) who hid their identity , the majority didn't. Marvel had governments type support with shield, with all these different team xmen , Avengers, fantastic 4, agents of atlas, inhumans, Thunderbolt, where as DC there was a sense of unity with the Justice league with people joining the roster globally . The superheroe family was another great difference between dc and Marvel and not talking The fantastic 4. Im talk about the Batman family's, other major hero , Superman, Wonderwoman , The Flash, Green arrow, aquaman , green lantern corp had these "family's " made up of sidekick, protege, partners who remain active rather that replacing the hero mantle. This need for marvel vs Dc is so stupid .there is no need for it
publishers have their own pool of writers and editors that do not intersect much with each other. if they do intersect more often, there wont be a marvel vs dc fight.
Who at dc pissed in yalls cereal, we know factually that most of the avengers wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for a dc property, and there was a lot of “insider” stuff going on on, plenty of people went from dc to marvel, and from marvel to dc, BUT DC DID IT FIRST, it’s the original blueprint, all the way back to action & detective comics, however that works🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
The biggest problem that DC adaptations have is the Big 3 inherently seem like they have to save the day, and Superman has most of their powers anyway. Also I would say Marvel has more characters identifiable to the general public- DC has about 10 cool heroes and then it thins out quite a bit. I thought JLU did a really good job of bringing forward some of the lesser known characters and confronting that the Question, Booster Gold, Vigilante and the rest has to get used to being put in the lesser roles but we’re still fun to watch.
This is the precise reason why I like my dc comics separate from my marvel, as similar as the they maybe being superheroes, they are also very different
So after all this and the title. It just that DC put character together and you call it Marvel way ?????? What's dirty about it ? Did the concepts of team invent by Marvel ?
Oh my god these guys never picked up a comic book. Just go read Titans or Justice League in the 90s. Read Kingdom Come ffs. They were not doing an “Avengers Justice League”. They were doing a current justice league. BTW, no one gave a f about the Avengers before Disney.
DC characters were always bland until Marvel did it first with their characters. Marvel/Stan gave heroes identities and personalities. DC NEVER did that, they were even against spider-man’s creation because of how his story was personal. Marvel always had characters that are more realistic.

I'm still mad the DCEU did not use the DCAU as the template for their universe.

JL+JLU was peak superhero TV. To this day nothing's topped it for me.
This was a nice deep dive. Well done!!
"A world made of cardboard"
Darkseid: " Wtf is cardboard."
Wish this documentary at least mentioned Dwayne Mcduffie and I really was hoping they would go more in-depth about Unlimited.
You need to do an episode of all the voice actors who performed as the villains in the show. A whole lot of powerful voices there!

Same!
He is THE best Batman!
Who doesn't
You know George newbern and Tim Daly are the embodiment of Superman, just as Kevin conroy is the embodiment of Batman.

"The Marvel Way" ?? Aight, go ahead and disrespect Grant Morrison JLA Comic Run IGN, which was the biggest source for this show btw
I was today years old when I found out Hawk Girl was supposed to be hispanic, pretty cool.
that is dope. Especially since the Hawkgirl in the new Superman movie is Latina.
That voice cast 🤯
Clancy Brown & Michael Ironside alone are 🐐

How can you say they did something "the marvel way" when .... You know what nevermind... Calling dcs characters bland from the comics is hilarious
They kinda were bland before Crisis on Infinite Earths.
@parsman9914 bland is a opinion and subjective, but even then that was YEARS before those animated series came out.
@@JasenMinusremember this was the first animated Justice League series since Super Friends, which was pretty bland and uniform.
@@jinpei05 sure the JL series. He mentioned ALL of DC. That has nothing to do with animated series.
try reading dc comics from 50"s to the 80's and then try reading marvel comics in the same time frame
