What questions were Shaykh Abdul Nasir Jangda and his team keen on addressing in founding Qalam Institute and envisioning a sustainable Islamic institution of higher learning? How do we build institutions that don't become victims of 'the algorithm', and how is the American Muslim community changing over time?
We ask Allah SWT to have mercy on the father of Sh Abdul Nasir, Abdul Hamid Jangda, who passed away this past week. He was a founding pioneer in the greater Dallas Muslim community and an integral part of building the current Dallas Muslim community.

Salaams! My friend, Miriam, graduated from IOK and is attending Qalam. Hope she doesn’t mind that I name dropped lol. InshaAllah I just know she’s going to do great things for the Ummah one day. Ameen! Huge credit to Sh Abdul Nasir for building an amazing institution, MashaAllah. I’ve seen his talks before and I’ve always felt he was a positive, light-hearted spirit. Proof that when Allah SWT guides you to true knowledge of the deen, it softens the heart rather than hardening it. Also, really do like idea of 1-year program for professionals or students doing gap year. IA something to consider! ♥️

Various comments are mentioning Noumsn Ali Khan. Ever since his inappropriate behaviour and those revealing text messages, i have never been able to watch him or look at him the same way. He never offered a public apology to all of us who used use his knowledge base. It felt like a betrayal to all his service users and global audience. I just cannot get out of my mind that this middle aged father had his lustful eyes on teenage girls who were studying under him

I know I’m months late to your comment and it’s no longer relevant, but I will say we all are sinners. From the information that was posted it was two consenting adults not underage teen girls. I never saw that so if what you say is false that’s on you and your good deeds given to him. As Muslims we shouldn’t cancel people because of their past. Our prophet forgave so many people who actively tried to kill him years prior. This is not our way. His sin is between him and Allah and people love talking about others. I learn so much from NAK and I will continue to learn from him because he has a gift of storytelling that you don’t. You don’t have millions of people turning to Islam and benefiting from his good words yet you come here with the arrogance that you need an apology. The prophet saw never asked for an apology why should a person who doesn’t even know your name apologize to you? People like you are the reason why our ummah is failing. We are so focused on division we don’t care to see the bigger picture. You lose out of his stuff nobody else. Keep your bad thoughts to yourself.
