I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who cries every time I see Nestor's story. But not only do I cry out of sadness, but also because God's grace and love are real.
God bless u alwaysss!!! Beautiful comment!!!..... Pleaseee, pray for the health of a woman called Gloria, she is in Bogota Colombia, is seriously sick and urgently needs a lot of other people's prayers for her healing!!!......thank u very much and happy merry Christmass 2021 for all of you!!!🙏🙏🙏
@@alexisvega5235 I'm also glad that nester had a happy ending. And all the animals and the man who own the animals appreciate nester after he carried mary so she can have her baby. Jesus. He also help joseph to bethelem.
God's grace and love are real and wonderful. But I have problems with fictional cutesy characters being implanted into the most significant sacred thing to have ever happened on Earth, the core of our faith. Both this and Little Drummer Boy stories/songs both do that. I think its borderline blasphemous. But I watch both of these great stop-motion animated specials anyway.
Nestor the Long Eared Donkey is my all time favourite Christmas show. When I tell people about it they have NO idea what I’m talking about. They just don’t know what they’re missing.❤❤❤
This has been my favorite since I was a kid. And I cry every year! Thank you Lord for the gift of your SON! And for the little donkey who carried them to Bethlehem!
As I child I would watch this every Christmas and cry and wail feeling so sorry for Nestor and even worse when his mother died. I am 53 years old now and still watch it.... I just cry in private. Missing my own parents this Christmas.
I'm right there with you . I absolutely ❤ the story of Nester. I'm 52 and still cry every year . Its so sad . It makes me miss my parents very much also.
Lisa Fitch OMGoodness Me Too I was explaining this to a coworker the other day and I was sobbing explaining it to her and she laughed at me the whole time but I thought it was really great for her to show this to her grandson
This is something that is lacking in our media today. Children need values that also teaches innocence and imagination. That is what this taught me when I was a child.
I watched this movie as a kid when it syndicated on ABC Family now Freeform, Its one of my favorite stop motion Christmas specials, which I continue to watch every year!
I wonder why they don't show Nestor, the Long Eared Donkey as often as most of the other Christmas specials year after year. I don't see any controversy to this special
I fondly remember this as a child, the one I watched was narrated by Roger Miller..NOT raised in a home that knew about Jesus or the true meaning of Christmas..I didn’t as a child understand why the lady was riding on a donkey..this movie drew me in, there was something so peaceful about it.. and yes I cried when Nestors mother dies, and I loved the angel Tilly. But most of all now that I Am a Christian.. I know now why I was drawn to the movie.. I NOW KNOW the reason for Christmas and have encountered the baby that became a man and died for me.. this movie has stayed in my heart for years and I am in my late 60’s. Sure wish I could find a DVD of it..
Thank you! I just got a notification that you had posted, I will check it out! Strange🤔 I just got notified since you posted a while back, Thanks again!
I LOVE this song! Touches my heart and soul on so many levels!!!! 💓 I'm gonna make some little donkeys for Christmas ornaments this fall!!! Dear little Nestor!!! ❤
Every year I watch this movie and every year I promised myself I wouldn't cry but every year I fail and I start to cry. I got two words for everybody "ears Nestor"
Thank you TheOrangeDonkey this is my favorite Christmas movie I think why I love it is because I was picked on too like Nestor do I know his pain. When the mother sacrifices her life to save Nestor I cry like a baby every time.
My father introduced this movie to me when I was young, he watched it with his mother growing up and it always reminds him of her. Well a few Christmases ago I almost lost my mother, and now this movie always makes me tear up, as well as Christmas Shoes by NewSong, good song I recommend
It is the time of the year,a short time to go and it's christmas. For me the best time of the year,a great season with wonderful songs.Hey,Donk! You did a great job with the song and voice of Marty and a great vid that tells the story of the little donky at christmas time, thank you.And I wish you already a great wonderful christmas time.
Halfway through this song... I’m crying. I struggle a small bit with the religious part of this movie since for some reason their Mary’s appearance scares me, (perhaps it’s because her face looks blank?) but this is still my favorite after Rudolph. All of my favorite Christmas movies feature characters who are teased, outcasted, alienated or picked on. I feel they deserve the most love. After all, I was born with Asperger’s. It’s a lot like having big ears or a red, glowing nose for me... and I find that I LIKE Christmas, but would prefer another holiday so I see the Grinch and I’m like “this is my man!”. Lol 😂
This Movie Makes me really sad. If anybody didn't watch this. You will be sad. This movie isn't a feel good movie like Rudolph. Its a story that makes you cry. LIKE ONE SCENE. Where they throw Nestor out in the cold and his mother runs after him. She puts him underneath him, protecting him from the cold. Then when its morning, he's crying and it shows his mother buried under snow, dead. OMG. It was horrible. But at the end of the movie is happy again. But this is one of the saddest Christmas movies I ever saw.
It is when you are at your lowest and most broken, empty of yourself, that God is able to fill you and flow through you... When your life is the darkest, that is when He shines the brightest the guide your path, a lamp unto your feet on the narrow road of life that is the Pilgrim's Pathway. Because the heart of the meek man is the heart that has room for the Holy Spirit. It was sad movie at times, yes... but still one of the most beautiful Christmas movies I have ever seen in my 24 years. :)
the stupidest thing is that Nestor actually goes back to that same stable at the end of the movie, if I was him, I would have stayed with Mary and Joseph!
i love the music Marty Robbins is a true legend. I caught the tail end of this movie one christmas years ago n it was the song that never left me tgis is such a moving story makes me cry
I was there as a little boy when the idea for this song was hatched by Don Pfrimmer in the early 70s around a pool table at my dads friends house (Jack King) in Kodiak Alaska. We had no idea at the time he would really write it but he did and Don went on to be a successful song writer for years to come.
My mom would put this on for my sister every year and she’d cry, then when I got older she would make me cry. Now every year my mom watched to see if I’m crying. I’m 21, I’m now showing my son Nester. He will cry too. Lolll
Yet another Christmas come & gone with Nestor being aired (@ least in Canada). While I love watching Rudolph Santa Claus Is Coming To Town & other Christmas specials it's a little sad they don't show this which is about the real meaning of Christmas. Maybe someone will air it for Christmas 2015 or I can find it on dvd.
+Tim O'Brien ABC Family Channel airs a very edited version of it ....I think the next time is Wednesday Dec 14...not sure of the time. I have not seen their version of it; I love the original. You can also buy it on Amazon prime on a DVD with a Santa movie on it too for about $11.
when did they change the lyrics? in the 70s when i first saw it when i was little, we even had to memorize it because my school sang it for xmas pagent Look at little nester hes got ears that drag the ground They wisperd as they mocked him ,but he heard every sound nesters heart was broken and his eyes were full of tears, if only there was something he could do about his ears They traveled throught the desert , but hadnt gone to far for winter clouds no longer let them see their guiding star but Nester had a secret , only he could hear the sound, as Angels gave directions to his ears that dragged the ground Look at little nester, hes got ears that drag the ground they wispered as they mocked him , but he heard every sound , nesters heart was broken and his eyes were full of tears , if only there was something he could do about his ears then the ending .. so children when your happy while you trim your christmas tree, you might thank a little donkey whos ears hang to his knees look at little nester hes got ears that drag the ground they shouted as they praised him , and his friends all gatherd round nesters heart grew happy and his eyes held no more tears now all the world knows nester for his laughter and his ears
