What a fabulous atmosphere and great array of obstacles - great way to get confidence in your seat and what you and your horse can do. Love hearing the hounds, the horn and the encouragement and praise to your horse! They are both very brave and clearly love their job.
This takes me back to happy days of real foxhunting . I have hunted with a number of hunts , as a boy The Clifton-on-Theme , My sister and I were taken hunting by our groom , who would keep us out of the crowd and give a running commentary of all the hound action . Next the North Hereford , The Ludlow , The Duke of Beaufort's , The West Somerset ,The Dartmoor , East Cornwall , Bolventor Harriers , The Western , The Duke of Beaufort's again , finally Toscana Caccia alla Volpe in Italy . I have had some good hunters too , in my teens I had an Irish draught , not the fastest , a great stayer who would jump anything no matter how big . My last horse was a 17-2 , thoroughbred who was very fast , pulled like a train , I had to ride him on the spoken word , but his manners were impeccable , stood perfectly still while hounds were drawing , opened and shut gates to perfection , on a run he tended to accelerate too fast and stand off the jumps which was sometimes a bit frightening . Thank you so much for posting , the people are having a wonderful ride , the only problem I see is the absence of stops while hounds draw .
I'm not sure what I did today to deserve finding your videos! thank God u were up and at it immediately ♡ i feel like I'm watching a dream come true. I can watch it over n over theres so much beauty to take in and the horn - just exquisite - felt like i was a royal Narnian. only at my age i dont think i could handle the pace OR size of those fences. Just makes my day to watch these sheer fantasy
It was so cute hearing everyone asking how you were after the fall!! Looked like a nasty one as well but at least you had a great, loving community of riders to go along with!!
@@oioi1034 In our hunt we the 1 master with a 20yr old that was ridden. I rode it once when my guest rode mine. He was a healthy able boy. But at the end of that season he was retired.
it can be if a horse refuses but 90%of the time it's perfectly fine, even with a refusal either you or the horse can normally react quick enough to avoid a crash

It's called manners & helping your follow rider. We do when someone falls. You check the rider & the horse.

My horse barks a lot too
What an exciting ride and a good turnout. Thanks for posting.
Wonderful horses!!
Thanks for making this lovely video, the countryside. Do you own 2 horses? Sometimes you ride the white, and sometimes the chestnut.
Susan Bilodeau . yep two horses.. the grey is 11 year old Theo and the chestnut is 18 year old Simba.
trail hunting in yorkshire an 18 year old still out hunting, lovely to see older horses still getting to do what they love and not struggling one bit

I don’t know why nobody else says this, but isn’t it dangerous for both horse and rider to be jumping the close together?
Jellian Fox it's how horses would jump in the wild it's ok
nobody else asks this because they know what they are talking about......

Are you guys chasing real fox?
No it's trail hunting
I didn't hear anyone yell "Tally-Ho".
Is that only in Hollywood films?
Yes.
Yes it's called when a fox is seen. Also tip your cap in the direction of the fox.
As I hunt, I've heard it.
