Sadly there are no “legal” gold fossicking areas in the coromandel, however if you want to risk it you can still go up bush, go to Paydirt.co.Nz and look at the permit map and find a creek round Waihi area or north from that that doesn’t have a claim and head up there and it’s likely you will find some gold, I believe the Karanghake gorge is a popular location

I generally use gold 1, gold 2 is for more mineralised ground. Good luck on your hunts and thanks for watching!!
