LESOTHO SOLO TRIP

  • In 2019 I travelled solo from my home in Durban to Sehlabathebe National Park where I stayed for 2 nights. I continued my journey to Katse Dam via the scenic Matebeng Pass.
    This trip was a great journey of discovery and solitude, spending time alone and exploring some of the wonderful attractions of Lesotho.
    If you have not yet been to Lesotho, I highly recommend that you do.

    This is a spectacular video! I've been to Lesotho twice before , with dirtbikes and 4x4s , using the Sani Pass route. A friend sent me this video and you had my attention from start to finish. Great video editing and camera angles as well. I'm definitely going to try out these routes. Thanks!

    Great trip man and really great video and content. Nice to see you out and about - keep it going. This is a bucket list trip for me. Is Matebeng Pass doable in a 4x2 Hi-Rider in the dry season? How safe is Bob Phillips campsite for an overnight stop?

    • @ThrillSeeker
      @ThrillSeeker  Год назад +1

      Thanks boet. Vehicle clearance is most important for driving Matebeng Pass. Even a 4X4 on std tyres might be susceptible to undercarriage damage due to the large rocks/boulders on some of the sections. But to answer your question, yes a 4X2 with high clearance and with a rear diff lock would be okay (although I don't recommend it as the weather at such high altitude can change within hours. Bob Philips camp site is community run and is very safe.

      There are many areas of Lesotho that you could explore in a non 4X4 vehicle. Many of their roads are tarred.
