    I have been doing my research for 3 years. Looking to spend my hard earned $$ on mowers that are reliable, easy to work on in the field, user friendly, very well made, and have a good strong company behind them. A company that listens to it customers. A company that is on top of technology. A company that is in this for the long haul. A company so involved that the CEO takes the time to make informative videos on their products. That mower, that company is Wright MFg. There is no comparison! Wright mowers are simply the best!!!

      Well said. I just don't know how more landscapers are not doing their homework? if they did they would see for value, longevity, ease of maintenance. Wright mowers is the only choice... And I ran Exmark, Ferris, Scag for the last 38 years. Please lawn care people open your eyes. My opinion only. I have been a mechanical/electrical technician for 40 + years. Wright mowers are simply the best!!

      It makes a big difference in tighter areas where the ground is warped. The under platform weight kit also helps a lot. We have a little more testing before making it official.

    Hi Ed,
    I absolutely love my three gen2 ZK mowers. The zero turn killer! Great to know!
    I will give you a little feedback, my hugest concern after a silly incident… I tossed my ear protection onto the top of my machine one Saturday afternoon and it just so happened to land in a way that turned the key on! I logged 60 hours before I used that machine again. I wish that the hour meter was regulated by the tachometer and did not log hours if the engine was not running.
    Thanks for the great video!

    I love my ZK! Switched from ferris z3x and I really like not having to grease every other day. It was strange going from a pivoting front to straight front, but there's no match to the ZK cut.

    Ed fix the issue with the hydro pully bolt falling off the hydro shaft then the key falls off and then the pully its frustrating. I have. 9 Zks was the first to buy one around here .. only problem that I think that needs to be addressed.. A bigger bolt will help or maybe a bolt that goes accross the pully and the shaft. Thanks Ed Zk is the best machine on the Market .
    Also i noticed the bolt fall off more often on the bigger 37hp machines

    Any plans for a new deck design? I absolutely love my ZK, but the clumping is killing me, not to mention there is over 3 times the grass stuck to the bottom of the deck every week compared to my V-Ride (literally, 3 pounds vs 10 pounds, I weighed it because I was so blown away by the lack of grass stuck on the bottom of the Scag).
    I really don't want to switch my fleet to the Scag, everything is better on the ZK with two exceptions; the oil filter is easier to access on the Scag, and the clipping discharge is better. The Wright has a better parking brake, more fuel capacity, heavier duty frame, easier access to the pumps to clean out leaves, more comfortable operator position, I prefer the quad controls, bigger tires front and back, the deck lift is easier, and it's faster. Unfortunately, I'm running a business, and not having to double/triple cut, and faster weekly and routine maintenance makes me more money.

    • @Ed.Wright
      @Ed.Wright Год назад

      Have you tried putting the Scag ultra high lift blades on your ZK? They keep the deck cleaner in wet conditions but also consume more power in dry conditions and create more blow out the front in sparse conditions and dry leaves.

    • @blackbeardlawncare7811
      @blackbeardlawncare7811 Год назад +2

      @@Ed.Wright Thanks, but yes, I've tried the Scag high lifts, the Ballard high lifts, the Oregon high lifts, and the Ballard X blades. The grass just gets hung up on something in the deck and comes out all at once in clumps.

  • @kungfury6410
    @kungfury6410 11 месяцев назад +1

    Two things. First, I would argue that while wright does have a lot of advantages over other brands, I would say that Scag still has a better deck with the velocity discharge being the largest on the market. I've heard some good, but a lot of bad about cutting thick grass.
    Second, I really like the idea of an automated mower, however, if you have to babysit it, what's the point of it?
    And I'm not throwing shade at Wright at all. I think they have excellent mowers, but I would like to hear from people using the automated mower, if it is actually worth it, or if its more of a gimmick.

    My main concern with these mowers is the ability to start fires with the hot exhaust. Would it be possible to use a different metal that is better with heat? Or reroute it out of the way? I resorted to header wrap after my first fire.

    These look like some awesome mowers. Been looking into wright for awhile. Only draw back is no dealer support by me, and I’ve heard these really struggle in thicker northern grasses. Cut quality and discharge is a concern. Maybe someone can correct me if I’m wrong on that.

      I run both Scag and Wright in Indy...currently converting my fleet back to all Wright ZK mowers. I started with Wright but switched to Scag because of Simply The Brave pricing which is great...only problem is the Scag is not build like a tank, the Wright is. The build quality and engineering on the Wright is far superior. I am now trading out my Scags as they come due for a full fleet of ZK mowers. We cut Northern cool season grass with no issues in the ZK lineup, no Northern Baffle needed. Support from Wright and my dealer is amazing after the sale. Currently running 5 mowers which next year I hope to double and change out to all Wright. I would not be afraid of Northern grass and a ZK with the 37HP.

      Also my gas tanks have a problem where the gas from the left tank siphons to the right tank when it’s warm outside and makes the caps almost impossible to spin off. Like a vent problem. Dealer hasn’t figured out why
