मशहूर शायर निदा फ़ाज़ली जी की ये वो कुछ पंक्तियाँ है जो IAS प्रह्लाद नारायण शर्मा जी के UPSC के सफ़र को जारी रखने के लिए प्रेरणास्रोत के रूप में उनके काम आयी। प्रह्लाद नारायण शर्मा जी राजस्थान के जयपुर ज़िले के छोटे से गाँव से हैं. उनके पिता एक किसान हैं, जिन्होंने अपने बेहद सीमित संसाधनों के बावजूद भी अपने सब बच्चों को शिक्षा दी। प्रह्लाद जी ने अपनी प्रारंभिक शिक्षा एक प्राइवेट स्कूल से पूरी की, लेकिन परिवार के आर्थिक स्थिति सही नहीं थी इसलिए प्रह्लाद जी ने कक्षा 9 से कक्षा 12 तक की पढ़ाई अपने ही गाँव के सरकारी स्कूल से पूरी की।बारहवीं की पढ़ाई के दौरान उनका जयपुर जाना हुआ जहाँ उनके कुछ नज़दीकी साथी सरकारी परीक्षाओं की तैयारी में लगे हुए थे। उनके पास आने वाली पत्रिकाओं में प्रतियोगिता दर्पण नाम की पत्रिका में upsc में सफल लोगों के इंटरव्यू छपते थे जिसको प्रह्लाद जी बेहद शौक के साथ पढ़ते थे। जब प्रह्लाद जी 12 वीं कक्षा में थे उन्होंने तय कर लिया था के उनको IAS ही बनना है। प्रह्लाद जी ने अपनी ग्रेजुएशन agriculture में की उसके बाद अपनी post graduation भारतीय कृषि अनुसंधान, दिल्ली से पूरा किया। इसके बाद उन्होंने दो साल तक कृषि वैज्ञानिक बनने के लिए तैयारी की लेकिन वो असफ़ल रहे।
सही मायने में उनका UPSC का सफ़र 2018 से शुरू होता है, जब उन्होंने UPSC को crack करने के लिए पहला प्रयास किया जिसमें वो असफ़ल रहे। इसका सबसे बड़ा कारण ये था कि उनके मन में ये बात घर कर गयी थी कि वो हिंदी माधयम से upsc exam देने जा रहे हैं और हिंदी माध्यम के बच्चे बहुत काम सफ़ल होते हैं। इस बात के कारण वो मानसिक दबाव में रहकर तैयारी में लगे जिसका परिणाम निकला असफ़लता। इसी तरह 2019 और फिर 2020 के अपने प्रयासों में प्रह्लाद जी असफ़ल रहे। लेकिन अपने सतत प्रयासों के चलते और हर बार मिली असफलताओं के कारणो पर प्रह्लाद जी ने काम किया। उन्होंने upsc exam को crack करने के लिए जो स्ट्रेटेजी बनायी थी, उसमें हर असफ़लता के बाद बदलाव किया। सबसे बड़ी बात हर असफ़लता के बाद भी उन्होंने अपने जोश को मरने नहीं दिया और आखिरकार उनका कठिन परिश्रम रंग लाया। प्रह्लाद नारायण शर्मा जी ने UPSC-2021 में AIR 104 रैंक हासिल करके अपने पूरे गाँव का नाम देशभर में रोशन किया।
प्रह्लाद नारायण शर्मा जी का मानना है कि " upsc के सफ़र में कई चुनातियां आएंगी, लोग अलग अलग सलाह देंगे, ये कर लेते तो अच्छा हो जाता वो कर लेते तो.. लेकिन हमेशा वही करे जो आप करना चाहते है। सुनो सब की करो मन की".

Upsc is not a degree course, 6 months of good planning and hard work is all you need..other factors will play its role too.
