I think Juice did the yelling rap on his verse because he knew that the yelling rap was kind of X's thing.

I'm glad you guys finally checked out a Ski song but not surprised it happened because him and Juice were good friends. I think Ski is really underappreciated and deserves to be bigger than he is because he has such a unique flow that nobody else really has and can switch up his cadence to multiple different ones depending on the beat or how he's feeling. He's a guy who just loves having fun and being goofy and his music really shows that. The reason you may have struggled to understand him moreso than usual was because, like you said, his diction but also because his music is filled to the brim with constant referential bars using cartoons and video games which make it hard to follow along with what exactly he was saying in those less enunciated styles. For example at 2:27, Casey's eyes start squinting when Ski drops the bar "Icky Vicky spit, how I got slimes on deck." Icky Vicky is a cartoon reference from The Fairly OddParents and you'll find at least half a dozen of these per video. A couple examples of the references in this song are: "Drake and Josh how we team your bitch" - Drake & Josh, Nickelodeon "Diamonds water, bending like the n* Aang" - Avatar the Last Airbender, Nickelodeon "When I'm acting like a monster like Stitch" - Lilo & Stitch, Disney Channel
