About LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga
Players can dive into the Skywalker saga and access any of the nine saga films right away in any order they choose. They can direct where to go and how to play.
All the unforgettable moments from the entire saga have been retold in new, fun-filled, hilarious LEGO humor.
There are hundreds of playable characters from throughout the galaxy and every era of the saga. Players can play as Luke Skywalker, Rey, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, BB-8 and a legion of other heroes, or turn to the dark side as Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Kylo Ren and more.
Players can visit legendary locales from their favorite Star Wars films such as the desert of Geonosis, the swamps of Dagobah and the snowfields of Starkiller Base. They can then travel through space and revisit any planet at any time. Expansive hub areas based on memorable settings from the films offer fun quests and more to explore.

Details I wish they kept:
- Kylo Ren’s saber hilt and torn cape
- Rey’s original blaster model
- Phasma’s original blaster model
- The shininess on certain objects (i.e. Phasma’s armor)
- The ability for characters like Dooku and Palpatine to freely use force lightning
- The bottom details on Darth Vader and Anakin’s saber

I hate that Lego has forgotten about the double light saber hilt piece it’s the perfect piece for mauls saber but they never use it in fact it was made for his saber
I’m surprised since Maul has appeared in sets since the Monkie Kid line without this piece.
BTW,if you got the 35 carbonite bricks you can find darth maul with a double bladed lightsaber!

in lego sw the complete saga had a sword slightly more extended or elongated than the others
I notice that in the skywalker saga the characters look more like they do in real Lego form, and in the force awakens they look more ”realistic”

A lot of people immediately notice the different lightsaber for Kylo, which was definitely a downgrade. The only reason I see that being done is because the actual lego itself was like that, as dumb of a change as it is. But one of the things that really bothers me is the cape. In TFA he had the actual Kylo cape, which WAS used on the actual lego as well. But in this game he just uses a regular cape for all versions, which makes the unscarred version feel no different from the scarred one, same with the regular helmet and repaired version.
I was pretty surprised this game didn’t have custom lightsabers for everyone.
I honestly think it’s better for more accurate Lego pieces. The cape is understandable but I feel as everyone are acting like babies over this, like who cares?

@@night6724 probably cuz the official minifigure of hooded kylo has a printed helmet, instead of an actual PROPER helmet entirely.
Plus the printed head Is just bad tbh.

I wish the multiple weapons mechanic some characters had was kept for TSS (like Rey and Finn using a lightsaber and a blaster). It could’ve made for some fun and diverse gameplay. Only one I’ve seen with this is General Grievous.
Honestly, I founded that mechanic to be really annoying. It was a little bit random

My favorite thing about The Force Awakens was the custom weapons.
The class system really was a step backward. Unique characters were reduced to copies of other characters.
Honestly, the only way it could work would be to officialize and fashion each characters ability and to put similar characters in a group which you can quickly access. Aside from this, it should only work like that, there should still be differences between each character.
Lego games always had a class system it wasn't really present as TSS

I always liked the way scarred Anakin leaned to the side and the way he draws his saber....it adds a level of badass to it
I think the characters from TSS are supposed to be more accurate. I could be wrong. I do miss certain characters being all reflective though.
Imma be honest, I prefer the fact that in The Skywalker Saga, the weapons were made to look like actual Lego pieces. Sure, the unique weapon designs in The Force Awakens were cool, but I've always found them... odd. Biggest examples of this are Anakin, Vader, and Kylo Ren's lightsaber hilts being designed to look like how they do in the movies, when no other lightsaber welders got that treatment (except for Palpatine, where even then, it was already an actual piece), and Kylo's blade not being one piece.
They actually removed reflections from some of the characters in armor, droids etc. (for example captain phasma, darth vader, C-3PO, R2D2 etc.)
Those reflections can hurt some people eyes and in some ocations do to the lighting they can blend with the environment soo easily is weird

While most of the characters look better in Skywalker Saga, here are a couple of things I think Force Awakens did better:
-Kylo's Lightsaber
-Phasma's armor
-Damaged Anakin's animations
-FO Flametrooper's Flamethrower
-FN-2199's stun baton
-Mace Windu's white pant legs
-IG-88's blaster
-C-3P0's shine (and any other character that's supposed to be shiny, like Jango's armor plating, and R2's head)
-Han's blaster's grip being brown
-Slave Leia (for obvious reasons)
Everything else, the Skywalker Saga did better. I never liked the cartoonish expressions in Force Awakens.
Anakin and Luke had a custom hilt peice also

That game is still fun. It has those massive battle modes, 2 big ships as the hub world and an amazing selection of characters.

When I look at the comparisons it’s night and day to me. In the TFA, Chrome Phasma and Kylo’s lightsaber is nice but in TSS it’s more accurate to the actual Lego figure. Especially the animations and faces. Kylo and a few others in TFA look absolutely abysmal, it really is apparent they cobbled together different textures for the mouth and eyes which causes the characters to look uncanny and strange. Sometimes the mouth also looks to be way too close to the eyes. All of the character idle animations in TSS are much better as well, most with special molds in TFA like Jar Jar don’t have 3d animations for their heads, so it looks unfinished. Looking at the comparisons of farm boy Luke and Yoda, TSS are so incredibly expressive compared to the copy and paste versions in TFA. Even if you find the gameplay in TSS repetitive and easy anyone can admit that the new game is glorious in terms of graphics.
I haven’t played the game yet, but is repetitive and easy gameplay really a complaint? When have those things not applied to any other LEGO game?

A lot of people are complaining about the weapons but you guys realise that TT were using a new engine here, right? They had to learn all the ropes and then make this massive game at the same time! Also I think the characters were a big upgrade from TFA. yes I know that some characters don’t have their custom weapons but I don’t care. The game is still fantastic.
I really miss the unique blaster designs in TFA. Wish they brought it over to TSS

I like how they made unigue fighting style for each character, in TFA. And even the facial expression, every time thay attack. Yeah, in TSS each character does have his fighting style, but because of new fightnig system it can't be seen.
Bro the facial expressions in TFA suck imo. Most of the time the mouths look like they are too close to the eyes and characters with head molds have absolutely no animations at all.

I think the best way to describe the deferences is TFA tried to make the characters more like from the movie while skywalker saga made the characters look like they took the real Lego and gave it animation

Man, most of the characters look so dead and lifeless in TFA compared to TSS, where they actually emote better and aren't all using the exact same animations for their idle movement and combat.

For some people with eye problem chrome is bad. Alos it is more accurate to the real minifigure
@@zarrow__ aaah now i see, they removed it because this piece is discontinued. It was oversized and bad, so they returned the old mold which is better and because tss uses real and dated figures used (no translucent piece) mold.
I think it looks good on resistance pilots but bad on rebel pilots

They made it a short range attack so like pressing x then b blast a spark of lightning.

The only few problems I have with Skywalker saga is that all palpatines force lightning moves are just really short close range bursts, when the one thing he is most known about is his force lightning, and the attention to detail. Like in tfa anakins lightsaber has loads of details on it like the bit at the bottom, and in sws it's just a normal lightsaber like every other characters, palpatines lightsaber is now just a normal lightsaber also instead of being golden, all the characters lightsabers are the same (apart from kylo and maul ect) it just really makes me a bit sad to see how much they rushed this and wanted to get it out as fast as possible to make more money
Reminder that in the episode 3 Palpatine used a silver lightsaber soo is accurate

I might just be picky, but when they mention stormtroopers, did anyone else realize that they labeled actual stormtroopers as “classic”, and the first order stormtroopers as if they were the regular stormtrooper? I know this is a stupid thing to talk about, but I though it should be mentioned.
Because technically the stormtroopers from the original trilogy are the classics

I have mixed review on this game.
For examples criticize changes, new gameplay, not have 2 players in PC, Palpatine's lightning different style and not having custom characters.
But praise fighting style, DLC, boss battles, some of characters and levels.
I wish this game is like LEGO DC Super Villains.

There's both an evolution to some aspects but a great regress to others, especially the unique weapons they had in tfa(except for Boba's, that was definitely an improvement)
