Paxton should have told Nate Paul, "I'll see what I can do" but when he couldn't get the feds off of Paul's tail without drawing attention to himself, he should have aborted the mission. Instead, he was obsessed with and determined to help Paul at any costs , which was very odd and suspicious to everyone in the office. When Paxton realized he wasn't going to be charged with the securities issue, he thought he was untouchable but the people under him didn't want to get wrapped up in a conspiracy. How can you be in law enforcement when you don't trust law enforcement?

What's laughable is that the prosecution believes that lying down and taking it affords them any friends in Texas. They need to be BRUTAL in the same way the defense is being. They should be calling out everything the prosecution is doing that they even think is possibly BS. The lady they have on during this testimony is doing a good job, but the whole trial needs to stacked to the brim with this. EDIT: they need to fight to the teeth in order to make this stick. They need to be aggressive, otherwise people aren't going to view them seriously.

Questions during cross examination should always be leading questions. On the other hand, questions during direct examination shall not be leading questions.

This happened to someone I know. It was a much smaller scale but its the exact same scenario.
