I dont know how many molokans are actually here. Ive left the church at a young age but I always return for the funerals. I never agreed with my relatives or my native religion but something about it is comforting... I wish I could find more songs sung in molokan churches on youtube.
I really admire the Molokan Russians...Once, when I was in college, a young Molokan girl saw me reading a book about philosophy...she told me that she only liked reading one book and that book was the Bible...I never forgot that moment!

I grew up going tp Big Church, also. Then the UMCA on Sundays and Sunday School. Wednesday night church, also. My uncle started a group called the YRCA (Young Russian Christian Association) at a non-Russian church in E.L.A. Everything in English! Us kids would also sing hymns in English. We also were able to go to Hume Lake in the summers. It was wonderful. This ws in the 60's. A turbulent time. I wandered away, although it is still in my blood. I loved all the songs, also.
Wow, I haven't been to our mullican Russian Church in many years and I still get goosebumps listening to this. I married out so I'm pretty much ostracized from the Molakan culture.
I am so sorry it was such a hard life in Armenia. The Molokans were in Armenia? I was born in California. We had many churches here and were free to be who we were.

What's the difference between a San Francisco Molokan and an LA "Molokan"? The difference is "yuge"! Do you hear the mention of a certain someone's name in any of the singing? Yes? No? And that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Так же как и старообрядцы, молокане - это бунтари против государственно-церковного истаблишмента. И я им за это симпатизирую.
