I stay in Stirling and this walk is very familiar to me, thanks for sharing it. During deepest lockdown I used to meet up with my best mate for a socially distanced picnic by the Beheading stone. Great view of the King's Knot at 11:50.
Great video, i walked from Clackmannanshire to Stirling the other day. I was up Gowan Hill, over Stirling Bridge, up Wallace Monument and to the castle esplanade. I've done the back walk once as well.
Great as always. Again time did not permit me to do the backwalk (cursing withheld). At 12:20, you have a view of the Martyr of Solway monument. I explained the story to my wife and we ended up visiting Wigtown the next year. Pisses me off when I see your weather. Here... There calling -28 with windchill tomorrow.
Great video, loved the Robert the Bruce effect at the statue! I must try and visit Stirling this year. I've been to the castle once, many years ago, but it was pouring with rain and sadly no views.
The video-editing software I use is Google's Movie Maker. Not sure if it's still available but you can often locate out-of-date software somewhere. Seems straightforward but takes a bit of time getting used to it. For free software it's not bad.
@@EdExploresScotland thanks, I'll have a look. I use Corel Video Studio, but mainly stick to the basics at the moment. There's so much to learn with all the effects available.
I'll check that software out. Although there aren't that many effects in Google's Movie Maker, I'm very conscious of not using effects just for the sake of it, and trying to create videos that would not look out of place on the telly.
@@EdExploresScotland no worries Eddy, I know what you mean though. Sometimes it can be too much. I dabbled in trying some effects a few times in the past but gave up as I thought the same thing. Some of them just don't enhance the video at all! With help, I can now make myself fade out and disappear though! I love doing that :)
What a lovely walk Eddy...Yes people get a bit mesmerized when they see a camera..haha ( I hope your not recording me )..haha. Must admit I have never been up that walk and it was great to see the lovely views. P.S. I'm sure you missed a wee bit dung on the path. Keep them coming mate
Great video! I'll be in Sterling in a month. Have any of these blocked off sites re-opened in 2022? I only had a few hours at the castle in 2003. I am eager to spend a few days in Stirling! Did you film this trek solo?
Cheers Bill. The blocked off bit by the old bowling green is quite small, and similar views can be had elsewhere. Stirling's open for visitors. Enjoy your trip.
Thanks Eddy. What's the length of the back walk and how long will it take to complete without stopping for lunch 😊 Bet they widnae mind a Union Jack (B.A.) being flown by 'political' walkers. Good on ya mate fur stikin up fur wur rights. It's even wurs noo since yon covid kerryown. Have fun. Appreciate your guitar work anaw✌
Hi Eddy. I enjoyed this walk. Now you need to be very careful these days with all that flag waving. You certainly don’t want to be accused of being political. 🧐 Cheers 🎃

Thank you. It's a very scenic area.
My favourite walk, the Back Walk, Stirling. Thank you, Ed 💞
It's a very atmospheric walk.

Enjoyed that Eddy, cheers!
👍
Ah, I loved your flag waving! Perfect. Did the walk in 2017, so this was a delightful trip down memory lane, thank you.
Many thanks. A cold morning, if my memory serves me well, but sometimes these mornings are the best.
Great stuff
Might wanna be careful with shadows and camera positioning but I loved it, and Stirling is beautiful 🤗
Many thanks. Still lots to learn.

The Back Walk's not long. From town centre to castle area is just 15 minutes. Following it further and it's a nominal hour or so.
@@EdExploresScotland Thanks Eddy
