Years ago, we hunted deer in NYS's Adirondack Mountains. We towed a popup trailer behind a 1969 GMC Jimmy in late fall, early winter. Snowfall was often heavy with lake effect snow coming off Lake Ontario. Winter averaged 200 inches a year. We were 5 miles in from plowed maintained road and 2 miles in from a decent gravel road. The 2 mile logging road was over steep solid granite rock, thru beaver sloughs, mudholes with inches of ice which broke under us and up to a foot of snow. We always put chains on all four wheels before heading in to be prepared before we got stuck. We sometimes had to use the winch. We had log chains, tow straps, clevises, spade shovels, snow shovels, axes, chain saws, wedges, pry bars, high lift jacks, ropes, and snatch blocks. No one was going to come help us so we had to be prepared to help ourselves. What we mostly had was 40 years of experience going in with a box trailer towed by a 2WD small farm tractor and people who were from a family of loggers. They had to cross a river and go in a mile deeper to a cabin. They expected to get stuck somewhere along the way.
Wow this will definitely be an anniversary trip you will always remember and talk about the most. Good thing you’re a prepared person. Very beautiful though regardless.😍
Weather throws a curveball, but you will never forget this trip and the beauty of the snow in Utah. Looked so cozy with the wood stove going. Thanks Scott 😊
Beautiful snow unless you have to shovel it to get to town or work. We have to deal with it to survive not for trip to 0oat on you tube slept in worse storms in Korea no heater🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🪖👍
I JUST LOVE ALL THESE WINTER CAMPING VIDEOS AS I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO THIS VERY THING WITH A KEROSENE HEATER INSTEAD OF A A WOOD STOVE. SADLY MY HEALTH WON'T ALLOW THIS.
I envy this! With all the bad that's going on in the world today surrounding me i could definitely do this for the rest of my life!! Amazing adventure thank you for sharing you guys helped me mentally in so many positive way's! 🥰🙏
Same. NE Florida where we get about 2-3 days of winter every year and not always consecutively. Love watching camping in the snow videos. The bigger the blizzard the better.
Ive been meaning to tell you in the last few videos. For a DIY camper it is very good looking and mainline looking ! GREAT JOB ! It doesn't look DIY at all . Can't wait to see the inside when finished
Thanks for making this video, it is really cool. That little wood burning rocket stove can put out some heat. Brutal outside cozy inside, your living the dream baby!
Best wishes from Lower Alabama! Great little camper utopia! Glad you’re there and I’m here as I was born in St. Augustine, FL and know nothing about snow. Y’all look real cozy!
The southwest is beautiful in the winter times (this includes Utah). I've lived in northern Montana where the temps one winter day was -45! Being from AZ that's a bit chilly! But in AZ we do get our bad winter days as well and I have been in Flagstaff AZ in a white out blizzard and know how stressful that can be for driving! It's definitely nice to have a camper with a wood burning stove and conveniences of a shower and toilet. Thanks for sharing!
while in snow country keep a shovel and salt bags to spread around your wheels when you park and a alcohol & water spary bottle for your wind shield to get reed of the ice when you get ready to leave keep your wipers up off the wind shield so they don't freeze to your wind shield
I'm in the UK. But I lived in the USA for two years. Utah is a great place. The snow is beautiful. I remember warm summers but boy oh boy the winters were so cold I'll never forget it.😅😅😅😅
Love the video. I’m still working on getting to that national park. Love to make it during the winter time but my wife says no. Love the camper looks like you built it and it works perfectly for you. One problem 15 years in Propane delivery experience. Whether it’s a 1 pounder 20 pounder, 30 pounder 100 pounder. Do not store them in you’re living area. Use them and put them back outside. Put them in one of those wood bins. It looks like a tire fill up on the propane tank. That’s the pressure release valve. And one pounders are very touchy. Because of the little amount of propane that’s in it. It gets affected by the hot and cold very easily. And I do not wanna see or hear that you went to sleep and something was wrong with the 1 pounder because you won’t know Until it blows its pressure relief valve in that little camper with that fire going.
LOVE YOUR TRIP,! but one little trick with the snow, i carry 1, 5 gal bucket of road salt , and put it in front and rear of the tires , so when your ready to move you have a run way to start off. also i use LUCUS OIL CERAMIC WAX ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE TRUCK AND TRAILER,, instead of hauling snow with you it just sliced off the truck/trailer, .
Nice video. Immediately recognized red canyon as i live just over the hill from there in Cedar City. Matt's offroad recovery used that same song with the guitar
I hope you don't take these as negative comments. But I sure hope you didn't wrap that winch line around that tree, they make thick nylon "tree savers" for your winch line. Also invest in an onboard air compressor. You basically shoveled away what would have given you traction, and just exposed the ice underneath if you would have just let some air out of your tires (around 15PSI). From what I could see there was barely any snow on the ground and really the only reason to dig would be if it was so deep you were getting high centered somewhere. Also using your maxxtraxx to reverse a bit to get a running start also may have been a better option, or consider using them instead under the front tires. It's always a good idea if you're going thru any area that may have snow and you plan on camping, carry a bag of rock salt with you. Anyway, thanks for the video :)
From Minnesota so I can sympathize with the cold. Nice camper design, I only question the Wood Stove? Estatically pleasing, but practical, carrying cord of wood, clearances, and cleaning out ash. Would a propane or oil furnace be more useful? Thinking of a circulating fan and temp control
Use your potatoe peelings in the wood stove for cleaning your pipes. You have to spread the potatoe pelting onto a sheet by the stove for 24 to 48 hrs the start your fire real good through them in. About every 10 days. This will eliminate creosote in your wood stove pipes and the interior of your stove box.
I have to live in a camper all this winter. I have a cabin being made but it's a 6 month wait. I've never stayed in a camper before so I'm excited and scared to death at the same time! I'm selling my house and moving to bug out land permanently to live a debt free worry free life. So im trying to learn all I can before cold gets here
I love my king size bed and plumbing and stationary home with a lawn

Love the vid! Can’t wait for your review of one of rbm tents.
With so many people spending 80K or over a 100K on campers, it's nice to see a home built one, very comfy and no frills.
Very nice when the weather cooperates. Rotten in mud, deep snow and nites down to zero!
Great time then to camp under a carport .
I had my camper built for $5500. It’s built like a tank.
I envy this! With all the bad that's going on in the world today surrounding me i could definitely do this for the rest of my life!! Amazing adventure thank you for sharing you guys helped me mentally in so many positive way's! 🥰🙏
My family did this for 3 years from October thru May in the 70's. Trust me, it sucks!!!
Such a well planned and executed build! Love it, so cozy and clever use of space, especially the dual access kitchen stuff
love the power wagon drining by while the tremor gets stuck
Being able to access slide out kitchen from the inside is a super cool idea 👍
Very nice your campers van
I live in Florida and love watching you camp in the snow!
i live in canada and love watching you frolic on the beach.

Wow Utah look's beautiful
That's a great set up inside the trailer. Plenty of walking around room. Comfy to cook in too. Great vid. 😅😅😅😅
Your trailer looks perfect to me. It’s functional that’s all you need .
thank you
Glad you two had a great time
Thanks 😊

I'm really surprised that the truck got stuck on flattish ground. I love the trailer!
I'm wondering the same thing...the additional training he applied for at the driving school🤔
If you guys ever see this, I'd love that breakfast recipe. It looked amazing.

Time to invest in Tire cables or snow chains ❤🎉😊
Tire chains!! They’ve saved my butt!
i love the chalange of winter RVing
Bryce Canyon looks really different in the winter, cool snow formations among the red rocks.
👍
Dude that’s an awesome setup. It seems like there’s a good amount of room in there the way you’ve got it set up.
Thanks 👍

Nokian makes the absolute best snow tires in the world!✌️

Beautiful video!!
Just before you mentioned traveling from Canada, I couldn't help but to notice that Hudson Bay company blanket 😂
80k 4x4 truck defeated by 4” of snow
A billion people defeated by a microscopic virus.
Probably has to do with the tires. Good winter tires work WONDERS in the snow!
😂

Bryce is my favorite place!
a set of tire chains from Canadian tire before you traveled into the mountains would have been a time and life saver
It looks like Eddie does a good job for you but you like camping way more than I would in the winter.
