Damn these guys get a full crowd I didn’t even get a season wtf
What state
@@dare3266 Texas
@@GossAug well, 1% of the total nation is 3 million. There aren’t that many deaths but still that seems pretty damn substantial to me.
@@quinnharris3283 the same amount of people died in 2020 and 2019 of illnesses
@@ethanbanks7217 yeah and we completely shut down for 2 months and went 10 months obsessively cleaning stuff wore masks AND stayed away from eachother and the same number of people died... how do you see that as a this isn’t serious statement?
The guy with number 2…that form. probably set a speed walking record
Still faster than you lol
@@logancourtney2632 👀 sure
@@logancourtney2632 oh snap you're the guy
Will is a menace with the sunglasses
Yoooo that's me😮
lol
Nah I don’t believe it, definitely not the name and profile picture
Nice race dude
@William Boyce what’s ur training like I was the kid in the gold Noah. And I’m trying to get a hold of you to see how you train!
William what you doing driving the cart at regionals this year.
That was a great race
Y’all gonna upload the 4a mile??
The Texas state champ only ran 4:26.42? That time seems really slow for a state winner of the 1600m run in a big state like Texas. Was this a small school section?
This is 1A-4A schools and races idk which one it is, but for sure it is not 5A or 6A because those are different breeds.
It was 3A and tactical we weren’t trying to run fast just to win
What is up with the Texas competition being so slow. 10 guys in my area just went sub 5:18 at an invitational meet.
You are stupid, how about you look at the splits of the race, we obviously jogged the first three laps 70, 70, 67, 58
@@wyatthoover8253 😂😂
@@williamboyce1854 lmao nobody gets to call me slow without racing me😂
@@wyatthoover8253 exactly 😎 good race brother
Slow? This isnt 6a!!
This gotta be small schools right?
Yes it’s 3A
Pretty small yeah.
4:26 wins state? Is that slower than normal?? Think 4:10 Won state my senior year with a few people going like 4:15-17... Maybe I'm wrong
It’s 3a, in Texas there are 6 classifications with 6a being the largest and 1a the smallest. The 6a times are where you find the 4:10’s
@@seanluna2361 Gotcha! I was wondering like uhhhh maybe Texas isn't good at Distance ha.
@@jonfisher1782 I was 4A and my senior year (2019) the winning time was 4:14 and my teammate getting second running 4:15. 4:13 is the 4A record tho. I feel like the competitiveness increases a lot once you get to 4A. I think the 6A champ ran 4:07 that year as well
@@trevorturner8037 Yeah 4:08-4:15 was what I was thinking for an average year with maybe someone pushing a second or 2 less but wasn't sure ha
I feel like this state championship was a bit... slow... I live in a pretty small area in Pennsylvania, and there’s freshman over here running under 4:40 in typical small local meets
I believe these are slower kids. In my town there are tons of kids running under 4:40 and sub 5 in general. So probably just a slow heat
under the time it says boys 3a. i think texas UIL goes up to 6a, which is for much bigger schools
I don’t think Texas crowns a state champion, but just a class champion (like 3A or 5A).
Will Boyce is a lot faster than that time. If you know him at all he messes around the whole race and stays w the pack til he wants to leave. I have never seen him run all out
@@captainbilly5480 u right I ran with him he’ll just talk to the guys behind him
So many pink shoes
124 through 600? Lol someone wanna tell him where the 600m mark is
Great runners. But 4:26 to win 3A lol.
Its called championship running we were jogging first 3 laps, youve never been to state have you
@Baum Squad they are there to win a title not a time stfu and get outta just because you never ran at a state meet
Tactical race.
@Baum Squad “ran at multiple state meets” that means you didn’t win any of them or you would have said so lmao stop hating and just appreciate a great race
@Baum Squad how many state championships do you have brotha? Just wondering bc he has 4. One in CC and 3 in track. Every race he ran in all season he ended by winning the state championship but keep hating even though you have none.
4:26 tho seems slow for a state championship
This is a 3A race so it’s small schools.
Nobody wanted to take the early pace so it became a sit and kick race. Happens from youth to Olympic level in championship races. Will Boyce had plenty of kick left in the tank after 3 races yesterday.
Yeah we came through in 2:20 super slow. That’s what William Boyce wanted. He won the 800 with a 1:54. I was the kid in gold
@@nrichadson2282 good job bro making it to the finals!
@@nrichadson2282 Congrats on making it to state. Had to be a thrill running at UT.
Savage elbow with 200 to go.
Track can be a dirty brutal sport
As clear as day. Lol.🤷🏽♀️
The guy who held the lead for the first 3 laps is a very unusual runner (probably why he was tapped out toward the end) but it's very strange in comparison to the other runners and looks like he's barely even moving along (yet he's out in front), plus he's a HUGE heel striker. Not too bad though considering, and still runs a decent time nonetheless.
I agree. Ankles over knees during a race. This guy seemed like he didn't want to use the full motion or power of his legs.
I agree. Horrific style. Doesn't look like a runner at all, actually. Also seems to have all the wrong body shape for middle distance. Still, kudos to him for getting to the finals etc. etc.
Yea the form needs a little work
@@scrumpymanjack fair enough I was more focused on bulk and speed and that probably hurt my form training
@@logancourtney2632 you the guy from this race?
that is one tactical race, that is so slow for a mile
Yeah it was tactical. The race still haunts me. Wish I would’ve just went. The guy the won had already won all distance events. I’m the guy who tired to go with 600 left then gets cut off and left in the dust
hehe if only i was 2 minutes faster i could’ve been in that race😂
WILLLLLLLL, dude is electric
Thanks bruh
Sheeesh, workout pace...
My brother got 5th
what kind of foot strike is generally used in a 1600?
Forefoot, it is used at all distances these days
@@rickydavis2435 shreds them calves
@@ryanbua6383 yeah imo midfoot is ideal for distances 1500+
mans out here wearing vapourflys on the track?
Would probably be pretty good for 2mile and above
@@biguzivert eh more like the 10,000 or above
Yeah he was. Ig the people in charge of the race didn’t know that those are illegal in races by the work athletic standards
Cool 😎
Pink shoes are the current meta right now.
how small is 3A in texas?
514 Max number of students
@@carlosjosecortez7596 and that's a HUGE 3A. Probably between 80-150 students/grade level.
My homie Angel in this race (got 4th) says his school has about 300ish students, it’s pretty small and kinda in the middle of nowhere
bruh i wish Indiana would do like 1a-3a and 4a-6a state championships our school is like a good 3a school but we get absolutely clapped at our sectionals because our sectional is one of hardest in state by like all these big 5a schools and we don’t get any competition all year until then in track anyway idk tho
I had that problem last year in 3a florida Miami schools but we actually got some transfers this year and qualified for the 4x4 and some individual events to
Wait, is this a heat or the championship?
All Texas state meet races are finals.
What spikes they wearing they all looked pink never seen them before?
Most of us where wearing the dragonflies
One vato was wearing alphaflys

Yeah and "all these guys" jogged the first three laps, in case you don't realize that's not the only race most of us had that day, so nobody wanted to take it out

There was a kid from my district that should have made it to state and probably would have won. It was his senior year and he was running around 3:30 in the 1600m with no competition and 1:57 in the 800m with no competition. From what I heard though at regionals Valley View(a team in my region) had 3 kids qualify for regionals in the 800m, and so to make sure that 2 of them would go to state the third one spiked the kid from my district. That's at least what I heard. I don't know if it was intentional, but it definitely made him run a slower time and allowed the other two valley view kids qualified for state in the 800m and kept the kid from my district from getting to state in the 800m and the 1600m.
3:30 in the 1600 is literally 13 seconds faster than the world record. Maybe you meant 4:30 lol
