Thanks for the info! I live in NW Oregon and I think we have similar winter weather (cold and wet). Run4Adventure is my favorite running channel. I love the optimism and your positive mentality. Keep on running!
I run a lot at night on roads. For rear visibility I picked up a Kiprun Kalenji, Running Light from Decathlon. $15USD. Best thing is it doesn't need a battery. There's a small magnet and coil inside. As you run the bounce makes a current that flashes the red LED. I clip it on the back of my hat.
Good afternoon Run4adventure and all the runners. Thanks for this review. The Autumn is coming, Loyd. Here is my like. A nice Friday for everyone. ☀️🏃♂️🌧
I don’t see many gilet/ vest and arm warmer options targeted for running but I use this setup in fall and spring cycling and it works great when you have big temperature swings from start to end of runs ( or rides)
I'd never heard of Artilect until your review earlier in the year. Bought myself a Flat Iron 185 top just last week. Not worn it yet for running but tried it on and it feels really good quality.
Their apparel is brilliant, some of the best baselayers I've ever worn! I really hope you enjoy your top Ashley and thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
I can back loyds comments on the fenix head torch. The best I’ve ever used. Power battery life and reasonable weight. Found out about from this channel.
I honestly prefer cold runs to the Florida summer. Moving to Indiana has provided a huge amount of improvement in my running with the hills and cooler weather.
Good selection there Loyd. Do you ever run in long tights? I have the OMM brand ones and they've lasted a few winters now and also have handy side pockets. Very impressed with them. Interested in checking out that Fenix rear light as well. As a cyclist, one piece of kit I'd recommend for winter is some good quality clear glasses. If you have a beanie on and no peak, sometimes the driving rain get in your eyes, or brambles can scratch. Normally a running cap deals with this but I rarely wear a cap at night.
I think your crazy to Jesse! 😂 Everyone's different I suppose, give me sunshine any day of the week. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Definitely keep getting out there. like you said, you don't want to loose all the fitness you've built up. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Wow, longsleeves in winter... When I go jogging in winter here in Russia, I consider putting on valenki, just to make sure I do not get stuck in some snow pile 😆
Hey Loyd, loving the channel, thanks for the great videos. I'm in need of a new running jacket but understand Shakedry is being discontinued due to environmental reasons. What other waterproof, breathable jackets do you recommend that won't break the bank? Thanks Louis
Great video. I’m especially interested in the the Artilect base layer. Can I just ask if you wear your normal running shirt size? The Ronhill jacket looks awesome too 👍🏻
Thanks Martyn 👍 The Artilect apparel is brilliant, probably the best base layer in cold conditions I've ever used! I tend to wear a medium in everything and the baselayer is a perfect fit in a medium. Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏😊
Hi loyd, I think the information you share is second before none and is immensely appreciated. However I have been trying to get my hands on the shakedry by ronhill and it turns out it has been discontinued ant the closest thing to it is the Tech Gore-Tex Mercurial Jacket. It would be great if you could do a review on this one to compare it to the shakedry.
Thanjs that's really appreciated 🙏 It's a shame that the Ronhill jacket has been discontinued, it's a great jacket. I'll see what I can do with the other jacket 🤔 Thanks for watching 😊
The issue I have with many Gore-Tex clothing is that they insist on a displaying huge Gore-Tex logos; the Ronhill running jacket is no exception. Quality should be classy. I can't spend money and have that ghastly wording on my arm in large type. Might just be me...
I could never run in a gym on a treadmill, I couldn't think of anything worse! I would much rather be out in the elements but everyone's different 😊 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
It depends what the weather is like. If its in the middle of winter and its cold, definitely a long sleeve merino baselayer from SAYSKY or Artilect 👍 Hope this helps Graham and thanks for watching the channel 🙏😊
Would you use a waterproof gilet in moderate to heavy trail runs or just very light rainy or windy (with no rain) weather? And am I correct that the back is not waterproof? Won't water get in through the back? Similarly, I guess there is no protection for your arms but probably not a big problem as long as your core is protected?
Hi Mate, What was the Artilect base layer you were wearing? They have several versions of base layer and I am after the softest. Like you I have ups and downs with Merino but I know if you get a good quality top it works really well. I have had a few Merino tops, the best being the Odlo one I bought last year, but even that now is starting to irriate my skin and chaffe. Thanks
Hi Rob It was their 185 Flatiron baselayer. I've been so impressed with the quality, great for winter running! www.artilect.studio/m-flatiron-185-crew-2211130-ad-ah-1236#selection.color=6571
Hi Lloyd would you say the harrier exmoor jacket is a good running jacket for the price point? Like the look of the Ron hill shakedry jacket but bit out of my price point
Hi Adam The Harrier jacket is a great jacket for the money, there's a full review of the jacket on the channel 👍 Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏
Hi Lloyd, please can I ask - how much of a difference is there between the breathability of the Shakedry and the Harrier running jackets? Is it a ‘night and day’ kind of difference, or just a little more breathability in the Shakedry? Many thanks! 🙏
P.S. found the Artilect base layer on Sigma Sports for £34! And I’ve bought the little light too - amazing quality and brightness in such a small package! That’s going to live in my running vest over the winter. Great video, thanks! 👍
It really is 'night and day' different Melanie. The Ronhill jacket is a lot more breathable, you do get what you pay for when it comes to breathability 👍 That's a total bargain, £34 for that baselayer is awesome! 😊
I'm UK based and my favourite time is Autumn/Spring for running quick 😂 I still prefer winter over summer anyway, but I think that's because when I started it was winter!
@@Run4Adventure I have just subscribed 2 your channel. Keep me interested in good content I like idea that you record 2 items wearing on you (shoes & wp vest) and later make 2 reviews feom the same recorded material. Time saving idea. Congrats

I’m making a transaction from cycling to running I must say running is a lot harder than riding a bike up hills. I enjoy your videos!
