My first art memory was at a really young age. I had to be about four or five years old. I remember seeing a national geographic magazine with pictures of gorillas and my older brother just started to draw the head of one of the gorillas in really exact detail. I was completely amazed that someone could do that and I had no idea my brother was so talented! (he is a master carpenter now) I was so impressed that from that point on when people were trying to describe something, I would butt-into their conversation, hand them a pencil and paper and say "here draw it". 😅 Only rarely did I get them to draw what they were talking about but I was the kid who always had a notebook and pencil with him, constantly drawing whatever came to mind. Shortly after this obsession began, my parents bought me this big How to Draw book and it was all about simple animal anatomy. 40 years old and I am still drawing and creating. I never pursued it as a career though. I am a web dev now and I LOVE procreate! Do you like my raccoon? 😁

When i was pretty young, my dad would give me and my sister art lessons when we couldnt aleep. My first art memory was him teaching me how to draw a 3D house. It wasnt anything crazy or special, but i feel like it lit a spark in me. Now, all these years later, im super grateful to him because something my engineering classmates are struggling to grasp, my dad taught me when j was 5.

Thank you so much for this video. As I have been struggling with losing more and more of my artistic soul, I finally hit the point where I am not okay with it and starting to figure out how to get back to the rhythm of pushing myself artistically but also with compassion and understanding of myself as an artist. Thank you again for bringing this video to us and sharing your insights. All the best and all the love sent your way :)

When I was in grade school part of art class was making these small pinch pots, but I saw a sculpted head sitting on the shelf that the teacher was working on and I decided to copy it, the teacher freaked out on me because I made an exact copy and I was just a kid with no art school instruction, It wasn't till the next assignment to make flower patterns out of balsa wood to use as ink or paint stamps, but instead I copied a swordfish out of a magazine exactly that I was sent to the office for evaluation, this was my early grade school experience in art

I was lucky enough that, once I really got into art, I had an art teacher that understood my creative flow. She let me stray from the assignment if I had an idea I really loved. She was an awesome teacher and I miss her :(

My first art memory was when I was two or three, and my dad had a sketchbook. I was with my dad and my grandfather, and my dad drew a rocket 🚀. I thought to myself, “I want to draw a rocket.” I drew a little scribble, and that’s my first art memory

My mom would open drawing and art books 📚 on the dining room table and sit me and my brother down to draw when we were kids, along with an articulated wooden doll.
All those images in books were my transport to another world! 😀
I specifically remember the one with the man with da Vinci's proportions, he always seemed like something from another planet to me with all those crossed lines and the giant circle! 👽👾🤖

I don't know if youve answered your own questions, but everything they advertise comes with the one-time purchase. The only other things you might need to buy are brushes, but theyre 100% optional.

I was 6- 7-years old, and our art teacher had us draw whatever we wanted. I was almost finished when she walked by, looked at my drawing (a landscape scene) and chided me out loud for the rest of the class to hear: “Why is that sun in the sky?! Do you see the sun when you step out and walk?!” I wanted to shrink into my wooden desk. Thankfully years later when I was 16, I met a wonderful and supportive art teacher who encouraged me…even had me sign up for an art scholarship! Bless Mr. Spivak!🫶🏼🙏🏽
