  • In this video, I show you how to Kettle dye a very curly fleece. It's a faily simple way to dye fiber, you just need to be careful not to felt the fleece.

Masham sheep have such stunning fleeces! I found out that Masham is a crossbreed of Teeswater and usually Dalesbred or Swaledale, making Teeswater the sire of Masham. Also Masham the closest breed to pure Teeswater. I adore the long staple length longwool breeds like Teeswater and Wensleydale, but Masham has the longest staple length I have seen at 15-38cm! 😍

Love those colours Stephanie, blues and purples are always a favourite of mine. Can't wait for you to spin and make something out of it.

That's so pretty! Thanks for the tutorial, I'm really hoping to start soon, and this is a very informative video! My question is, having only worked with prepared ready-to-spin fibers, what is the next step? Do you card it? Do you just spin from the fleece? Thanks for your time

@@Sknipper7 oh that's neat! What are the differences in texture and color from the different preparation methods? Do they require different spinning methods? I'm still very much a beginner, so I'm just trying to understand. Thanks for your time, and for your future videos!
