    This is a momentous and ground shaking moment in the Anglican Church. May the Holy Spirit use this historic moment to reform, renew and bring us to our knees in brokenness to repent and turn and pray for the church and society for souls to be saved. Thankyou Dominic for your provision of the many interviews with a whole range of delegates.

      Is it momentous and ground-breaking? Most practicing Christians in the UK don't recognise the 'Chair of St Augustine' as a thing - or the Chair of St Helen's Bishopsgate for that matter. It's a denomination. It's having a split. It is a story as old as the Church itself. Never a great look, sometimes necessary, rarely momentous - maybe twice, 500 and a thousand years ago.

    • @jf7243
      @jf7243 Год назад +2

      @@ajons190 the fact that it is rare, makes it so methinks. How much so, is yet to be revealed. But at the very least it will be significant. In terms of preserving the faith as laid down in the thirty nine articles and the historic doctrines of the church; for those who believe in these and hold them to be truthful, yes it is momentous.

    For all Christians, Anglican, Catholic, Eastern Orthodox et al, now is the time for the prophetic voice.
    We are all called to be salt of the earth, and light of the world.
    To Our Risen Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ be all Honour and Glory. Amen! Alleluia!

    This is so historic. It is like Canterbury has fallen because of the apostasy of the Shepherds.
    Your excellent interviewing has revealed the hearts of these true shepherds. These men are humbled , saddened, grateful and relieved.
    We can see how gruelling and distressing this has been for these true believers.
    May the Lord heal hearts for His glory.

    We stand with Gafcon and all the people of God within the Anglican community that are opposed to the 'Sin of Canterbury'. If the Bishops have chosen to go with Satan and aren't ready to repent then let them leave. They don't own the Church.
    My prayer is that, the sin of Canterbury will not be allowed to become the sin of the Anglican Church world wide. If the Bishops of Canterbury aren't ready to repent, God is more than capable to flush them out and raise people that can do the work.

    I totally agree and support you from Australia. Jesus Christ is the only way…How can the church telling people to do the right thing has now turned against the very right thing they preach? What kind of evil is this and where did that came from and how did that evil creep into the church???? Our children do not need to hear that, this had happened because they will be totally ashamed of this generation that fall out of the Light when they read the Bible.

    Was something else expected? When Martin Luther opened the gates of dissent about 500 years ago, the british royalty then ruling wasted no time in hopping on the dissent bandwagon and setting up CofE. It is estimated that over 30,000+ cults, churches, denominations and various groups came and went since that time, each of these insisting that they, and only they were right, all others are in mortal error. The trend continues to this day. How can one tell who's right, if anyone?

    • @irlc1254
      @irlc1254 Год назад +4

      I'm not sure why the Roman church should have an monopoly on error.
      (Edited with following clarification).
      Just to clarify, this is not a smart-Alec response. If the Roman Catholic church is devoid of error, and perfect in every way, and has no need to change anything, then your question would be justified. But even in the first century, the apostle Paul warned of false teaching, and those who had great harm to the church. Implying there will be splits. Not to mention the beginning of Revelation, where not all churches received glowing commendations.
      Of course, full unity across the board would be wonderful. The reality is, as we see from Gafcon, and from the history of the Roman Catholic church, false doctrines can and do come from within. Sadly, there comes a time where parting of ways is the only correct choice of action.

    My guess is that nothing will happen. The Anglican Church has been making empty threats for decades. It's too strongly wedded to the big cathedrals, and the (ostentatious) pomp and ceremony of the Church of England.

    Will there be a simplified version of the statement for the ordinary people 'in the pews' who might not understand a lot of official/political church language? I mean summarized in simple English (or whatever other language)
    What will it mean for churches in other denominations that have a similar issue going on?
    When did church become an (almost?) political institution anyway and not just a family of believers who support each other and worship God together ? Maybe churches just got too big and had to be organised and run programmes of events etc. and have set things to do and say.
    Praying that God keeps on building his church despite all the confusing politics and ways people try to organise things.
    And that the gospel, repentance and discipleship are defined better so it is esier to understand what is involved in being a Christian other than attending meetings, giving money and singing along trying to worship God with whatever style of music even if it's not to our own taste or we don't always agree with all the words... ! We need leaders who lead and don't just go through the motions maintaining a religious ritual and leaving us to our own devices... like sheep without a shepherd.

    With 315 bishops in attendance, GAFCON has nearly as many bishops as the Council of Nicea.
    That should be enough to set the date of 8 May as Excommunication Day for Justin Welby, just long enough for him to crown the King.

    It will be humbling if the Archbishop of Canterbury eat humble pie and repent , but sadly pride will stand in his way , when Judas decided to betray Jesus it’s written Satan entered him. This is saying what happens when we deny the truth. Satan has free will
