Excellent video ! Being new to the VW stuff - I think I said every word & even made up afew when i put a new clutch in my 74 Super . We have several German made pieces of equipment at work. Good equipment - but talk about OVER ENGINEERED ! Still lovin it ! Couldn't be happier - glad I got BIT by the BUG again & love workin on & driven em.
Gday Kevin here from Australia just found this old video of yours. Anyways those clips are a mongrel. I only have one hand that works my left one is no more . But as you say take your time and i got them in .so pleased.
I have had those T/O bearings with a kind of teflon coating. I have never removed it... hmmm... Hope don't have a similar mishap. Thanks for the video!
+vw64manyrd Never noticed when I put it on and I had to take over to the wire wheel to get it off. I figured it got baked on. Good to know someone else has seen the same thing.
Nothing worse than having a problem and not knowing why. You loose confidence in your car and are afraid to drive far from home. I'm learning new things all the time. These mechanics that worked on VW's at a dealership make me laugh. Most of them were just parts changers and then drive home after work in an American made car. Nothing 'Wrong with that, Just sayin.
I just had this happen last week, peddle to the floor, pulled clutch cable out and nothing wrong with it. While it was out replaced it with a new cable and changed out my throttle cable. So pulled engine and found one of the ear's broke off on the fork.Had a spare trans so I pulled the fork out of it and beefed it up before re installing the fork. extra welds.I up graded to a stage one pressure plate.
I just did this a month ago on my 65 Bug. Because I didn't fully remove my engine, I didn't have the same access to work as shown in this video. I GAVE UP on the new "racing" style clips. Way too hard to put on with limited access. Finally wound up putting back the "original" :( But the new TO Bearing worked great !!
i know im asking randomly but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my login password. I love any help you can give me.
I fought the battle last night with a small screw on a carburetor. I put it down on the bench where I couldn't possibly lose it and came back, and no screw. I looked and looked for it before I noticed it laying right in front of me. My bi-focal glasses blurred my vision making it appear to be invisible. That screw was not much larger than what you find on eye glasses. It holds a mixture screw adjusting stop used on an outboard motor. I am a senior citizen so that is my excuse.

great vid EZ, so what was the white stuff? was it a protective coating that should of been removed before fitting? i guess the mating surface seized, gripped and spun it right out?
Yeah, I screwed up big time. The guy I got it from thought it was used and I didn't notice it in the light I was working with. Not to mention old eyes. LOL It was just a rust protective tape and It made a mess and seized. I share the good and the bad so other folks will learn along with me.
Your worst nightmare is working the pedal assembly. There is a adjuster nut on the rod but you may have to remove the master cylinder or loosen the pedal assembly. Your going to hate me going into it. But if you take your time and clean, Paint and oil everything down there you won't have to do it again for many years
+Elbows Malone True, but I have been meaning to have a look in that tunnel since I bought the car. I spend more time than most off by myself exploring things. I need to add a slingshot to my tool bag. I miss my dog Pal :-(

VW MountainMan me too! 71 beetle sedan. Love the bug!
Oh what fun it is... :) A clip in the driveway is much more fun than one in the eye. Take care, be safe!
+Ironheart Fabrication safety glasses are my friend. Only got one eye working. Like to keep it.
Thanks for bringing us along and teaching us more about VWs EzGz! Have a good'nnn
+geargriden19 I'm always learning along with ya

Good Job buddy. I fight it with two hands. Your a better man the me.
Working on fixing the clutch on my 72 beetle. Thank you for this video
You just don't see that happen that often. Except for having to pull the engine out. Overall an easy reapir. Thanks for sharing
+Rusty “rustyglovebox” Glovebox There may be something else. I hope it didn't get bent. ???????

What a pain. Glad you got er done.
Its great when it works out that its something that does not cost anything but time to fix.
+MidwestMotoRider You got that right :-)

+Pimento Momento I will still worry about it for a few miles. Not sure if something might have gotten bent. It made a loud noise.

Lost my clutch this weekend, but It was just the wingnut that came off at the back end. I should maybe use a locknut behind it for next time.
+Kewlbug Try to find a stock one. The clutch arm has a oblong recces that fits the wing nut. It's hard to adjust
Thanks, I got the right one now. I don't know if the old one was oblong, It's in the road somewhere now. RIP wingnut.
Loved it Professor G. Always a learning what I knead to know about these strange marks. What is a "Kombi"?

+TheEZGZ I found a split window with doors on both sides. Haven't seen it yet.

Hey umm I need to know how you got the push rod off for the brake Master cylinder
