Is this really a good time to buy stocks? I know everyone says the mrkt is ripe enough for buying but will stocks tank further this year? How long until a full stock recovery? How are other people in this mrkt raking in over $250k gains within months, I'm really just confused at this point.
My portfolio includes good corporations, but it has been stalled this year. I have about $250K in my reserve that needs to grow; any suggestions for growing my portfolio would be greatly appreciated.
I usually don't do well with online recommendations, but this Jessica advisor seem to know her stuff, just went through her website and I booked an appointment.
Investors really need to take heed to what Warren said about diversification. Most investors do it for the sake of just diversifying. Maybe one or even two per sector, as long as there are the top one or two in that sector. Also remember too the market goes up and goes down, not by its own but by investors. If a stock falls it's because some investors decided to sell. If a stock rises, its because more investors caught on to a buying opportunity or increased their position.
To me, the issue comes from knowing what fields I can trust so much because unlike buffet, I simply don't have the ability to sit for 6 & more hours a day and inform myself. For me diversification is risk reduction strategy and its the best market approach . The more stocks you own, the less risky it gets, and more chance of gaining multibags.
I own 5 positions and I think it's just fine. I don't like to own shares of companies I know nothing about or very little. At the end it's all about choosing solid companies. Some companies you can keep for a very long time. APPL, NVDA, MSFT, GOOG, AMZN, etc now im looking into some Berkshire top hodlings like coca-cola ( KO ), Kraft Heinz (KHC) , American Express (AXP).. Owning shares from these various companies work together to reduce my risk of a permanent loss of capital and portfolio's overall volatility .

@@PhilipMurray251 Building a portfolio and knowing the right stocks to pick was an Herculean task at first so i decided to dedicate out 4-5 hours daily studying some selected stocks, I also had help from a stock-advisor "Nicole Ann Sabin". She’s a well know for her stock picks and portfolio diversification . you can searchon her online using her fullname, she's well renowned . You can consider holding some non-correlated invstments (e.g., those whose prices don't ebb and flow with the daily gyrations of stock market indexes . Do not panic and sell even if a stock value is 90% drop , you lose if you sell

It’s interesting to learn how non IT investors analyse tcs stocks. I have always thought tcs performing better as compared to other counterparts like infy (apart from fundamentals) because of its 1. workforce(4lac employees) higher per hr onshore and offshore resource billing in t/m projects (both in number and value). 2. Diversity of clients based on region(more non us clients as compared to infy/wipro) and line of business(non banks). Less impact due to us work visa changes(h1b,l1) 3. Better sales team capable of grabbing new projects as compared to counterparts 4. Lesser spending in campus infrastructure and on campus freshers training. 5. Expansion in tier2 cities And now everyone is talking about attrition which not specific to just one or two organisations but across the IT sector due to great resignation including companies like Microsoft, captives, product based companies where attrition rates used to be very very low

Technical resistance at those levels, don't go by all these finfluencers. Make your own research and invest. All these finfluencers are the ones who pushed stocks like IRCTC at ridiculous prices and other high price junk onto retailers. They don't really know anything, it's all just commentary after the moves have happened.
@@rahulnair3390 you're right about influencers. atleast most of them are good for nothing. about technical resistances... there maybe resistance at 17600. but that doesn't mean market won't break that level and move up or go sideways. how can we be sure that nifty will go below 15000? correct me if wrong.
I am not saying that it's not going to break that level, it can go to 19k as well - the market cannot be predicted to a certainty, it can break any level on the up or down side. Just explaining True Words logic that there is a technical resistance at those levels on the larger time scale, and if market starts reversing from there, it might eventually fall back to previous swing low at 15000. And this could be the wider trading range going forward. However I think that in short - medium term it's very unlikely that we might break below 16400, unless there's a big trigger.
But for investing there is no right or wrong time... There is only right and wrong stocks. Always better to keep small portfolio of maybe 10 stocks - 6-7 large caps, 3-4 mid/small caps and Gold Bees or any other gold related asset. And keep accumulating regularly with monthly/quarterly SIP, don't try to time market or levels and sell only when and if you need the money.

I’m convinced that the big investors and analysts are trying to scare us to keep us poor and ignorant to the market.. because its steady doing good after all the jobless and market crash talks. I've been investing this whole year and my 8 months old portfolio still grows roughly by 15% to 25% on a monthly basis. so I'm convinced at this point
It's always going to be the same formula: be patient, make smart investments and don't get scared by the markets going down - this often comes with the best opportunities. We've seen worse times before, and we will for sure see worse in the future. Always be prepared to take advantage of whatever opportunity arises.

@@ishaandevaj5587 little I learnt from my advisor, Mary Freed Lorenz, who's a pundit, Inflation mostly affects stock yields in that, as inflation erodes the value of a dollar of earnings, it makes it difficult for the market too gauge the current value of the companies that make up market indexes. On the flip side, inflation favors value stocks (if you know how to take advantage of this in the market). I gain always from inflation because of the picks my advisor makes. I hope this helps.

And if i sell it after 1.1.23 it is LTCG.
So what if I bought 100qty on 1.1.22 and on 1.6.22 another 100qty i.e. total 200qty
Then if I want to sell my 100 qty on 1.2.23 it is STCG or LTCG ?
