Excellent
Thanks
Excellent ... only suggestion I have is to extend the base slightly, allowing you to hold it down by the base rather than holding it at the top.
Good tip and easy to sort out👍
Looks very handy, and not too bulky either for a small workshop. My one suggestion would have been to attach a thin strip of metal to the base of part that slides/measures. I'd be concerned that metal teeth would puncture into the wood over time and reduce the accuracy.
That's a very good point I must add that in
absolutenly awesome bit of kit Tomasz
Thank you kindly 👍
I’ve got one of these in my Amazon shopping basket. Maybe I’ll hold off. Thx T!
A good use for that broken retractable tape measure.👍
Yes 😁👍
Except mine always breaks at about the 2cm point, so would be a depth gauge with a 2cm offset ☹️.
Neat project
Nice project Thomaz, going to be in my shed soon.
Thank you kindly, let me know how it went.
Brilliant, Tomasz! Fantastic work! 😃
I'm going to make one as well!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you kindly, its a great little helper. All the best mate
I often prefer DIY, and for sure over "plastic thingies".
Building simple, but also very useful tools and jigs from scrap, etc. are also good exercise projects for us beginners. As I also prefer buying materials over expensive tools I might only use 1once or twice, but looks good in my shop!!
And we don't have to make exact copies, but can change, improve, improvise, etc. the DIY jigs/tools videos we can find here on YT. And we can show people our collection of unique tools/jigs in our workshops, instead of boring (read: expensive!) workshops with only top
(read: expensive) brands tools!
Thank you for the inspiration, Tómaz!👍
Respect and support from Pia,
the poor (did you already guess that?) newbie woodworker in Denmark 😁
Exactly, couldn't put that better myself 👍
Nice one Tomasz
Thank you for watching
Very nice tool. Suggestion: Why don't you put another IMPERIAL ruler right next to the METRIC? Just zero them out together. Am definitely making this!
I don't use Imperial that's why 😅
@@CasualDIY Understood.. but your nice design will accomodate all! Just my 2cents
Good job
Thanks👍
Great work matey...something for me to fabricate at the weekend 👍
Nice simple and very useful project 👍
Very good & simple to build 👍.
Thanks 👍
Very well made I like it
Thank you very much
Nice making.
Thank you kindly
Awesome! My only suggestion would be that you add a flat extension protruding from the bottom & back that would allow you to easily keep the gauge square and parallel with the tablesaw blade if you wanted the highest accuracy possible. Otherwise you could be out a partial mm depending on how straight you hold the depth gauge.
Good addition 👍
@Casual DIY thanks for all your videos. They've helped me a ton, especially the small workshop setup vids!
@@sean_mc glad that my videos are some help😁👍
👍🏻
Notice the purchased versions allow you to measure from the work surface. Whereas, your version requires one to measure from the insert plate. However, if care is taken setting up inserts, that really shouldn't be much of an issue.
Exactly and it's something than can be improved or adjusted to the tasks you need it to tackle.
