AHHH THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER
I'm so sorry I didn't add a threshold knob . I think it's to do with skin over the blood vessel it's trying to sense. It worked better on my finger tip out of the green clamp but it got buggy. So sorry you only got one sound 😂. Atleast it doubles up as a massive impractical heart necklace!!!!! Merry crimbo

Ive just finished the lap of santa, Loved it all. But that furby is just next level. perfectly captures the insanity of those little things. Giant Mech Furby. one of the best things ive ever seen on the internet. this marathon has become one of my favourite things about Christmas. I would love to see more video of the cats opinion of it. We had one cat that was petrified of my sisters one, and another that would just box it whenever it bugged it. the dog ignored it. Congrats to All the Makers, that was an excellent season
Sam running trying to make pattern speed up reminds me of the stress test I had to do last year. They had me keep running because my heartbeat wasn't getting fast enough for the test so I started to make a 140 bpm kick pattern going in my head and focused on the 4 on the floor beat I was imagining. Got my bpm up pretty quick
WOW I love it, I've had this idea in the back of my mind but didn't have the technical know how to actually make it. Glad to see it come to life 🙌

“Simple as that” 😂 I spent my entire 3rd year final uni project trying to reliably derive a pulse rate from an optical signal staring at oscilloscope printouts of different guinea pigs I roped into helping me 😅
Perhaps your problem was using guinea pigs, the fur would get in the way. People would work far better😊

I run a hospital bedside monitor, into my Eurorack, i use the standard 3 lead set attached to my body for the trigger. It, has you have discovered is a heap of fun.

THAT'S NEAT ! The fact that it can pick up the actual pulse from the left ventricular contraction , then the smaller pulse immediately following . The Human Body is truly a Marvelous Thing and is a testimonial to the Majesty of an Awesome God and Creator .

Did a group project when I did my music industry course where we took an exercise bike and used a piezo sensor to adjust the speed of a drum track and then paired that with a boxing bag that we had fitted with piezo sensors playing synth sounds. We were trying for a slightly more complex idea of Malvern stars on 45's from the much loved Aussie TV show Spicks and Specks

This is a brilliant invention! Matching the beat of the music to your heart rate... Would need a bit of tweaking to get a Bluetooth signal from your Fitbit or something, but potentially a great way to monitor your pulse during training.

It seams a simple LM393, LM339 (quad) comparator, capacitor and shift register like CD4021 would do the same.
Yep. It would do the same. But it wouldn't have reliably doubled the heart rate. Hence doing arduino as I already knew it would work and had to build it in 2 days😊
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER It takes a whole lot more code than you imaging to do it right, rather than just detecting an edge.
The same with buttons, it should be done with time stamps from a 1 ms timer or better. you can even calculate the beat rate than. like tapping a button once or twice, holding it. do you still have a "heart" sensor? would be fun to see but using 2 comparators, up / down edges using voltage dividers and CMOS logic.
How much rolls of plastic does it take to print these big things? i want one as wel.

calculating the beat rate i did but i liked it taking the more direct approact of taking it beat by beat and then halving the time from the last edge. i did it as there was a more direct correlation. thanks a lot for the pointers! ultimateily i did it this way as it worked for me :D@@AnalogDude_ by all means improve on it! i have built the modfule also already and when a new heart rate sensor turns up ill be using that with the synth, but its already build. cheers.
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER I'm referring to enable timer or safe time stamp on the first edge on and measuring how long it take to be definitely edge off to prevent false readings. that's how you do it with buttons.
