    Amazon Prime just raised their minimum grocery order for free delivery from $35 to $150. For a single person that alone makes it easy to say goodbye to Amazon Prime and hello to Walmart Plus.

    I have both and compare prices before making a purchase. Great feature of Walmart+ is you can get same day delivery anywhere near a Walmart. And for holidays and birthdays you can get Walmart to deliver same day gifts which is impossible for Amazon in rural areas. Also, Paramount+ subscription is included with Walmart+

    I’m disabled an unable to drive for the past 28 years. I have both and they are both awesome. I was a little leary about ordering produce from Walmart, thinking I might get some sketchy looking items, but surprisingly everything was really nice and fresh. I know it seems pricey and of course you need to tip (Walmart is rich, but the drivers aren’t and they are using their own cars/gas)

  • @josh24441

    I have both and they both have their cons as well. For Walmart+ I think their biggest con is when you use scan and go on your phone, you still have to wait a 5 minutes (sometimes longer) for an open self check out register when it only takes me about 10 seconds to scan and pay. They need to make like kiosks or special registers that’s exclusively for Walmart+ scan and go members.
    For Amazon, not everything is overnight shipping. There have been multiple times where I’ll order different parts for something I need and one thing will arrive on Monday, and the next part I need will arrive on Tuesday, and the next part on Friday. I’ve tried to make it all one package with just one delivery date and it won’t let me. It makes it to where I have to wait several days for everything I ordered.

    After having prime for years, I got rid of it last January and haven’t regretted it once. I can get almost everything from Walmart that I used to get from Amazon. Also, I’ve noticed that some of the things I would have gotten from Amazon that Walmart doesn’t carry, I was able to get from another site on deal with free shipping (even though it was longer than 1 or 2-days). They’re all competing with Walmart and Amazon and like a good capitalist, free-market society, the consumer wins!! PS: I still use subscribe and save for a few things but you don’t need prime for that.

      I live in North West Indiana and about 38 miles from Chicago, and we have same day shipping on tons of stuff, and most stuff is next day. It's nice to be able to order at 11am and have stuff arrive at 2pm, which is the case quite often. I think your area may not be in a very "busy" location or not a very amazon heavy area.

    Walmart Plus+ subscription is OK if it didn't come with pretty much a "tipping" service. I honestly hate the tipping mentality and it needs to die. Please pay workers an acceptable and fair wage, and do away with tipping altogether, especially for something that is centered a lot around groceries. You're basically locking out lower income people as well because they may be able to afford one, but not both. Yes you can set the tip, but the lower the tip, it seems the less care someone puts into your order being delivered.

    • @rorywalks

      typical kind of response from this generation that is way out of touch with reality. Just wait til reality hits♥️
      I just stick with Amazon♥️ Walmart should just pay their employees more and not expect a customer to pay it out on top of a monthly and a delivery fee❤
      I hope Amazon takes them over♥️Walmart sucks and so do almost all of their employees♥️

    • @johnnyboy13642
      @johnnyboy13642 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@rorywalks We pay a subscription price monthly, so why should I have to tip you? Luxury service my butt. I have Amazon 2 hour deliver service on my area, for the same subscription cost, and I don't have to tip. Drivers are paid through Flex which are third parties, independent contractors like those working for doordash etc, but they actually get paid for their work, not paid by tips. You realize that calling delivery service luxury is what's wrong with the whole thing? Let's lock out 33% of the population on lower income that probably need delivery service more than anyone else. You know, struggling parents with no car, or elderly, etc. Let's make them pay a premium for the help they really need. I grew up in England and have lived 35 percent of my life in the US, and the tipping culture is so backwards here in the states. In England I can order groceries, pay a small delivery fee and drivers who work for the grocery store deliver your food. They get paid a wage and that is their job for the store. Delivery.... no tip. You can, but drivers don't ever expect tips. Most drivers become your regular and you get to know them week in and week out, not like the randomness of some random delivering your groceries or food and expecting a "tip" because they don't get paid a fair base pay.

    • @genesishep
      @genesishep 7 месяцев назад

      @@rorywalksWow, I'm going to assume that you are a another typical representation of the selfishness in society today. Some people sign up for services like this for the exact opposite reason than for a "luxury" experience. Besides, NOBODY shops at Walmart for a "luxury" experience. For some it's a lifeline because they don't have access to a vehicle, live where there are no bus lines or perhaps they are elderly or disabled and cannot drive anymore and have no one to shop for them.
      You do realize that Walmart doesn't just market this "luxury services" to wealthy people right? They also offer it at half price for people on a lower or fixed incomes. People who aren't able to afford the so-called "luxury service" you believe you are offering (every time I refer to it as a luxury service I can't help but roll my eyes).
      But anyway, No trip for those folks either right? Screw em' if they can't afford you. Even though you are already getting paid, and not rock bottom wages like a waiter or waitress. In my state the minimum a driver will make is at least $15 an hour. To drive a couple miles from the store and bring a box to an old lady.
      There doesn't seem to be any charity in the hearts of today's generation at all. And while that sickens me just as much as it saddens me it's behavior that was taught to you by my generation who raised you with these values. And I'm ashamed of that, it's a pity you aren't ashamed of yourselves.

    Just like I have a Prime Membership solely for the purpose of shipping costs/time. I have a WalMart+ Membership solely for grocery delivery. I forced myself to start doing my weekly grocery shopping through that service. The only time I do any grocery shopping in person anymore is for Steaks/Skirt Steak/Brisket... WalMart's offerings aren't good enough for me to let someone get that for me.
    Honestly, Grocery Delivery alone is worth Walmart+ Just shows up on my doorstep Sunday afternoon. Easy Peasy.

    I have both and enjoy their perks equally. I get W+ free from my credit card, but then I have prime card too which is currently 10% reward on gas which I fill from Walmart with 10c off from W+. Better for to not go to the Costco gas line and get almost same price nearby.
    Also, I have noticed the quality of product at Walmart has gone up in comparisons to what it was 7-8 year ago. But sometimes I find same product but cheaper on Amazon. In all, love to have both.

    If you live in an area with same day shipping, then Amazon prime is a no brainer. Just today I ordered a car part I needed at 9am and I received it at 11:30am. About a week ago my daughter spilled water on her PC and the motherboard gave up the ghost. 3 hours later Amazon delivers a new motherboard. And here's the big one. I ordered a 1,200 dollar TV at 1am and it arrived at 6am the same morning. So worth being able to order stuff at night and then get it before 8am. Funny enough, most deliveries of smaller items take place at 4am. Yeah, kind of a weird time, but my cam picks up deliveries at 4am in the morning often.

    I think Walmart plus is better, especially if your Walmart is located within 10 mile radius. Also, Walmart, plus gives you a lot of cash bonuses, unfortunately, they tend to be out of stock a lot, so sometimes you have to wait longer for your item. But it’s overall cheaper.

    I love walmart+. Got a routine down. check the sams club gas lines, if to long go wait at Walmart for the pickup and get gas after. I'm saving at least 10 bucks a month on gas so just right there it's worth it. Now you get paramount plus which we're using almost daily to watch "Evil". Another perk that usually isn't mentioned is you can get regional products that are usually ONLY sold in certain parts of the country. Dukes mayo is now my favorite mayo but can only get it online at Walmart. I've also received cheerwine and skyline chili both of which you can't usually get on the west coast

Giving up my Alexa, Audible, and Music is what's holding me back. I got in on Walmart at $49 and they deliver things to me when they promised to deliver them. I'm just so frustrated with Amazon.
